Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have the logitech bluetooth keyboard with the separate number pad (not connected but came with it). I love it and it's worked great, but it suddenly stopped working a couple of days ago. I switched the batteries and pressed the connect button on the bottom. Am I doing something wrong? I really hope we can get this to work. My job depends on it! Thanks in advance, Erin

I've already done that a million times...any other suggestions?

  • erin858 Jan 21, 2009

Yes, I checked the batteries, the receive and pushed the buttons. This usually only happens when the batteries are low. I used brand new pack of batteries and just in case they were faulty I tried another pair...no luck. I'm not sure if the receiver should be lit up...it's not! But it is plugged in.

  • erin858 Jan 21, 2009

Yes..it's been 3 days now. But I'll try again.

  • erin858 Jan 21, 2009

I got it to work!!!!! Thanks for you help and time...not sure what was wrong. Maybe all I needed to do was ask for some help. Best, Erin

  • erin858 Jan 22, 2009

  • erin858 Jan 22, 2009

Oh sorry, I read the message above. A bluetooth jump drive that came with the keyboard. Everything's plugged in though.

  • erin858 Jan 22, 2009

How do I uninstall the keyboard and re-install?

You have to push the connect button on the keyboard mouse and the receiver to reset all of them. It sounds like you just have to push the button on the receiver and the keyboard

Are the batteries in the right way? And is the receiver plugged in?

  • Dan rogers

Most of them have a light on them when you are pushing a button or moving the mouse. Have you restarted the computer since you changed the batteries. That may be all it needs.

It really sounds like you are going to have to uninstall the keyboard and mouse and re-install them after a restart. Sorry this became such a pain in the neck'

    go to start>control panel>system>hardware tab>device manager.

Once in there right click on the keyboard and mouse and select uninstall or remove hardware.

When you boot the computer back up go back into the hardware manager and there will be a button to search for new hardware. Push that button and the computer should detect the device and you will install the drivers as normal. I'm assuming you have the driver cd that came with the equipment, right?

Just install as you did when you first set it up and you should be good to go.

I have a dell xps that came with a wireless/bluetooth keyboard with mouse pad and i have another dell xps 420 that i'd like to use the wireless keyboard on...they are both dell xps's and both

Wireless/Bluetooth keyboards and mice can only be used with one device at a time it is like a bluetooth headset once it is paired with a phone it will 99.99% of the time only work with that phone and that phone only, Wireless keyboards and mice are setup on the same principal once they are paired up with 1 PC to use on another PC you have to remove the pairing. The worst case scenario is that the second PC's Wireless/Bluetooth has failed. I hope this helps.

My Logitech keyboard MX3200 has stopped working. I changed battery no help. Pushed the connect button - no help Could I have turned it off by accident. I cannot move arround with arrows either.

Try plugging in a USB (a keyboard that connects via USB port) keyboard. If that functions properly then your wireless Logitech keyboard is defective.

The initial setup is easy. It's simply a matter of turning it on and pairing the Bluetooth connection. You're asked to enter a four-digit key code on the keyboard, so it's a nice, secure connection. A small plastic easel folds up and the iPad 2 slides into a plastic slot above the keys. The entire case is lined with rubber, providing padding and a secure friction fit when the case closed. Though it's only gravity holding the iPad down, it tends to stay put, even if it's moving about on your lap. To protect your desk from the aluminum surface and to give the case a non-slip feature, you can stick on the included rubber feet. The iPad 2 can sense the presence of the case and will automatically turn on when it's opened (you just pry the iPad out of the shell) and power down when it's closed. Unlike most other half-shell cases, however, you can't just stick the cover on the back of the iPad if you don't need the keyboard.

The Bluetooth transceiver gets its power from a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery that should hold up for weeks without a recharge (via the included USB cable). Just for fun, we paired the keyboard with our iPhone 4 and it worked just fine, freaking out a friend with epic-length responses to her texts.

The keys on my Logitech wireless keyboard have stopped working. New batteries installed. Shortcut keys to email, Internet home page, and calculator are working.

Did you press the connect button located underneath your keyboard and still didn't work?
  • It might need some cleaning?
  • Also check if is a key that has been stucked. Sometimes, removing keys and putting them back on will solve the problem.
  • See if the USB bluetooth is connected properly.
  • Check under the Device Manager. You might also need the Logitech updated driver???

Think for the possibilities. Let us know if one of the solutions worked for you.

Althea,

We are not allowed to give out phone numbers or email addresses. The email address you used to sign up will be the one we communicate with to reach you.

We do have a Logitech expert on our site so if you will explain your problem I can probably help you myself as I recommend and install wireless Logitech keyboards all the time.(If not I'll refer you tour Logitech Guru)

Your problem is either one of three things that we can troubleshoot for you. Just be aware that these boards do fail from aging and what is called "electronics fatigue". But lets give your problem a go and see if is still serviceable or needs to be replaced finally.

Regards,
Worldvet
