That's not good, I would suspect a failure.

How can I repair a out-of-warranty external drive with symptoms described below?

a clicking sound is referred to as a click of death and makes repairs virtually impossible

it is when the pick up arm that reads the disc, flicks back and forward across the disc hitting the stops for the movement

if you can retrieve any files or folders then do it but the hard drive is on the way out

get better info fro an IT geek shop that repairs pc's

Cant pick up wireless internet from hub

It doesn't sound like you have a wireless router or wireless access point. If you have a hub or switch, that doesn't give you wireless capability.
Many wireless routers will have antennas on the back of the unit (that is one way to tell) but it's not sure since some don't.
You can post back with the make & model of your router, etc. for device specific help.

Printer i making a weird clicking sound. It won't print. It has error light On. Status: load tray 1 / Plain letter Toner level is 80%

check if there is a paper at tray 1. if so, may be the printer is unable to pick up paper due pick-up roller problem. try to remove the tray and look in the middle, there should be a rubber like roller. if its too glossy it cant pick the paper.

If there was no clicking sound before and now there is after you installed a hard drive (goes click...click...click) then that is bad. A clicking sound is what you never want to hear from a hard drive. Means it's bad.
Fans don't make clicking sounds.

No sounds are coming out from my laptop

Yes, you might have turned off the sound in your PC.

For Windows Xp this is the procedure to turn it ON.

Go to 'Start'--->Settings---->Control Panel----->Sounds and Audio Devices

Here you will get a window where you will find all the sound related options. Here you will beable to modify the volume levels and check whether the mute checkbox is ticked, if yes then uncheck the box and click on OK.

Now, if you find that there is still no sound from your PC then

I feel that your audio driver is not installed in your Laptop.

Please be informed that any Driver software depends upon the PC make, Motherboard type and Operating System. You need to know all the three information's to do get going.

Please find the Driver software's of your Audio and video inside the installation disk provided with the PC at the time of purchase. As you have not mentioned your PC make I am unable to give you the direct download link. However you can download the same by visiting the website of the company that manufactured the PC.

Even here you need to be careful to download the correct software for your PC. You need to be exact with the PC make and Model number and the OS that you are using.

To install just Double clock on the driver setup.exe file and go on clicking 'Next' until you get the 'Finish' option and restart the PC.

Sound not coming

First go to 'Control Panel' by pressing the start button and click "control Panel' Second, Go to Hardware and Sound if your computer is set to category view, but if your computer is in list view just click 'Sound' you can see what mode you are on the upper right corner of the screen. Third, after you click ' Sound' another window will appear, then on the 'play Back' tab click 'configure' then click 'test'. if sounds were heard then your computer's speaker are working. (make sure your computer is not on MUTE. now click 'OK' Lastly, click 'Properties' then click the 'Levels' tab, you decide here how loud your volume would be then click ok. and you are all set up. thank you.

Acer Aspire internal mic won't work.

You need to check the record settings and make sure the mic is not muted or turned down to low. Click START, CONTROL PANEL, then SOUND icon. Click the AUDIO tab up top. Make sure that your sound card is selected in the drop down menu under Sound Recording. Now click VOLUME tab. A new window will open up. Click OPTIONS then PROPERTIES. Make sure you have a check by the MIC and click OK. In the Recording Control window, turn the level up for Microphone and make sure it is not muted. Let me know what happens.
