I can't view SSL sites it gives error that your SSL certificate has expired how can i over come this problem

Hello ghulam ali,

SSL certificates are to secure sites, they are issued by Trusted CA's such as Entrust and are sent out through your OS updates (e.g. Windows Updates). You can get the latest update from Microsoft if you are using a Windows based system using the following link: How to get Root Certificate update for Windows

If you are receiving a certificate expired error, this could be caused by the time on your system being incorrect. Make sure that you have the correct time, see the following link for the steps: Microsoft Corporation

If you are still receiving the error after following the steps above, please provide the URL of the site that is giving you the error and I can verify if the certificate is valid.

Hello Kevin Penrose,

SSL certificates are to secure sites, they are issued by Trusted CA's such as Entrust and are sent out through your OS updates (e.g. Windows Updates). You can get the latest update from Microsoft if you are using a Windows based system using the following link: How to get Root Certificate update for Windows

If you are receiving a certificate expired error, this could be caused by the time on your system being incorrect. Make sure that you have the correct time, see the following link for the steps: Microsoft Corporation

If you are still receiving the error after checking the above, please provide more details in regards to the error, if you can provide a screenshot or a URL to the site that is giving you the error that might help provide the key to the issue.

Also, it could be that the poker site is no longer using a certificate that is trusted and that is why you are receiving the error. You should have the option to view the certificate that is causing the error. If you provide the Issuer I will be able to provide more info as well if it is a trusted CA certificate or not.

Thank you

Certificate error

A "certificate-error" occurs when you access a "secure-HTTP" site (one that uses the 'https://' prefix for the URL) and the "certificate" that the site is "secure" (namely that the site really is the site that it claims to be) is invalid. Certificates have a "start-date" and an "end-date" and certificates can be "revoked". If the certificate is for a different web-site ('web.site.com' versus 'www.site.com') or is revoked, or if the current date is not between the "start" and "end" date, you get the "certificate error" message.

What site did you try to access?

If this is your router and you've forgotten the username or password we suggest that the router be reset and then setup with a new username and password.
Default username and password
Before doing a hard reset on the router you may want to try the default username and password. While this is not the same for all routers, this may allow you access to your router.
Username: Admin or Administrator
Password: <Blank>, try just pressing enter or try "admin" as the password as well.
If this does not work and you believe the router is using the default username and passwords try viewing the default settings at routerpasswords.com
Sometimes when attempting to visit a secure website on your Windows computer, you will receive a message about a security certificate error.
You will have the option of whether to continue to the site.
Secure websites, such as an online bank or retail store, use security certificates so your browser knows that any financial or personal information you enter on the website will go the correct place securely.
Every error message does not necessarily indicate a security problem on the website.

Check your computer's date and time.
If they are incorrect, you will receive security certificate errors.
Click on the time in your taskbar, and set the correct time in the pop-up window.
Refresh the website where you received the error message.
If you receive a security certificate error message again, the problem lies with the website's security certificate.
Click the icon that looks like a padlock next to your browser's address bar.

Read the information in the window.
This will detail who owns the website, the site's verification status and any known information about the website's trustworthiness.
Compare this to what you know about the site you were attempting to visit.

Click "View Certificates, then "Install Certificates."
Click "Yes" at the security warning to install the certificate for the website.

Certificate error on web site.

This is basically an Internet Explorer 7 Website’s Security Certificate problem! You have to self-sign the certificate on the client computer or add the URL manually to the trusted security zone. When you are trying to access a secure web page, you receive the warning message:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority."

Or

"Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server."

To fix this issue, you can follow either of the methods:

Method 1:

You have to install the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 (Windows SBS) self-signed certificate on the client computer. To do this, follow these steps:

  • In Windows Internet Explorer 7, click Continue to this website (not recommended).
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
  • Click Certificate Error button to open the information window.
  • Click View Certificates > click Install Certificate.
  • Click Yes, to install the certificate, when warning message appear.

Note: For Windows Vista users, right click on Internet Explorer icon. Select Run as Administrator.

Method 2:

Add the URL to the Trusted Sites security zone:

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Go to Menu bar > Tools > Internet Options.

    tool.jpg
  • Click Security > Trusted sites > Sites

    sec.jpg
  • Type the URL in the Add this website to the zone text box > uncheck Require server verification >Add > click OK

    trust.jpg
  • Click OK to exit.

    cus.jpg

Now you have added the URL successfully into the Trusted Sites security zone.

Certificate error I cannot get into any email accounts

Hi,
Please perform the following steps.
This error message appears because the security certificate was issued by the University itself and not by an authority acknowledged by Microsoft.
To solve this problem, for most webpages you just have to install the "CA Certificate" of Ghent University in your browser.
For certain websites, such as https://zephyr.ugent.be, you need to import its own certificate:
Click on "Certificate Error" next to the IE7 address bar and then "View certificates"
Click on "Install certificate..."
Click "Next"
You will be asked where the certificate has to be stored. You can use the default setting and click "Next".
Click "Finish"
Confirm by clicking "Yes"
On your next visit, you will not see the error message again. Hopefully it should work.. Thank you

Error code:12045 in windows vista

is this he first time that you received that problem/error?
some sites have security/authorization/ certification before you can sign in..
***This error occurs when the client does not know about the certificate authority that issued the server certificate. The problem may be corrected by installing the certificate authority's root certificate. A list of all installed certificates can be viewed from Internet Explorer. From the View menu, click Internet Options, click the Content tab, and click Authorities.
