Question about LG 55LH40 55 in. LCD HDTV
The inverter is what powers the flourescent tube lights (Back Lights) so you can see the screen image. As a LCD panels picture is very very dark it needs the lights behind it for the image to be able to be seen. The inverter is the "power supply" for those backlights.
