I think it's related to the MB. That board is probably over 5 years old. You might try to get a PCI USB card since you have 5 PCI slots. You can get one for $15-$20.

When you check the Device Manager, are there any yellow (?) on any of the USB listings?

I think it would be a mother board problem but that is the worst I would try and install new drivers from Most drivers I get are on the web site driverguide.com but you need to register and it is free the if it still plays up you know it is the motherboard and you can put a extra card in for more USB

What is a hi speed usb host controller and how do i install one

Hi,
Your mainboard it? not equipped with USB 2.0 ports. If you want to upgrade your system to include Hi-Speed USB support, you must install an USB 2.0 PCI Controller. USB 2.0 allows much higher data transfer rates than the older USB 1.1 standard, using the USB 2.0 port you will copy much faster your data or access information from your flash drive, for example.

If this is the solution for your problem, please rate my post, otherwise give us more details about what you would like to know.

Regards,
Andras

Here's the manual: http://www.motherboards.org/files/manuals/107/mk7ada12.pdf

Pages 5 and 29 give very detailed pinouts.

I need the manual for a soyo sy-kt400 dragon lite motherboard

Hi freebird2k6,

Go to this Soyo link:
http://www.soyousa.com/content/Downloads/155/&c=35&p=173&l=English
Drivers, bios & manual located on this site.
Manual is at the bottom of page. (Soyo no longer supports the board so download everything & burn it to CD).
Soyo may stop listing these drivers soon.

Good luck!
Mike

SOYO USB lock up must reset PC before accessing any USB

I have had alot of problems with soyo mobo's.  Seems the drivers that they provide for the USB are crappy.  Best stick with windows default drivers.
