Question about Dell Latitude D600 Notebook
I have a Dell Latitude D600. I can only see half of the screen the other half has verticle multicolor lines which makes difficult to see anything.
Just to clarify, if the video card is the damaged part, it will be cheaper to buy a new machine, because in laptops, the video card is integrated, and would require a new motherboard, and only in a few cases can those be found cheap.

First rule of thumb; have you tried to reboot it?
If that didn't fix it, try connecting with another display (can be flat panel, CRT, whatever you have handy); if the problem persists, probably a bad video card; if not, your display is bad. In my experience, new displays cost ~$400-700 just for the part; that doesn't count the substantial labor to fix it. Video cards are probably affordable, but somebody has to install it. Are you up to this, or will you need to hire it done?
If you want to DIY (do it yourself), you can try buying parts on eBay or the like, but since I'm seeing used D600 laptops advertised for $299 when I was looking up some of this information, it's likely NOT going to be worth your time to try and fix it, unless you're doing this as a hobby.
Back-up your data, and plan to migrate to another machine ASAP. Probably not what you want to hear, but anything else is going to waste your money.
