Try cleaning it again. Did you clean all the sensors? In order, you first remove the exterior cover with the 2 large side screws on the side (one is under a sticky label) and then on the back, remove the 4 screws around the perimeter of the cover. Pull off the cover and then remove the 2 screws on the silver colored plate over the CD/DVD drive. Then spring in the 2 tabs toward the rear that lock down the rear of the drive cover, and lift the silver cover off the drive. Now there will be an obvious lens and a couple of more light output devices that don't look like lenses. You should see them off to the side after you look it over well. Cleaned with Isopropal and dry with a dry q-tip. After I did this, I had the same problem still. I then took the unit apart again out to the garage and used a throttled back air stream from my air compressor to clean all around the the sensor head. I re-assembled it, put in a DVD and it played OK.
have you tryed replaceing scart leads plus check if there in a priority order 2 like going form dvd 2 tv then tv 2 sat recever try going via sat recever then dvd then you tv if that dose not seem 2 solve you problen it might seen you might have dry solder point inside you dvd unit if so take bk where you buy it from and explane to then wat is happening hope helped
