Canon Rebel XTI supports up to 2 GB memory card, or up to 4GB CF cards only. Read page 66 on user manual below: INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Are you talking about the photo card?
If so you may just have to turn the camera off for at least a minute a good 60 seconds.
If this doesn't work get in touch with CANON by clicking on the link below or preferably calling them directly at the # below:

Try formatting the card IN the camera. Sometimes, formatting on the computer just doesn't give the same results.

My Canon Rebel xti camera states that is an error with my compact flash, I bought a new one and it still won't work

Pull the cf card out and with a careful eye (maybe a small flashlight and magnifier) look down the slot and check to make sure none of the cF card receiving pins are bent... it happens and it'll give you a card error. Regretfully if this is the case, it'll need a repair, replacement parts are available but it is a little techie to get apart and swap parts... Check the pins... good luck on this..

Canon rebel xti broken cf pin. does any one have the instructions or know how to repair this. I already bought the new part and would like to know how to replace it.

Hello,i had the same problem days after i bought my camera. It was my fault actually trying to put the CF card on the wrong side.Anyway i have send it to the canon service for repearing. The guys there were very nice, and changed the pins without any charges, since my camera was brand new.So my advise is to send it to any of the canon services and they will keep you inform about the status of your order rapairing.Good luck.

Why does the word, ''busy'' pop up on the canon rebel xti?

This is the camera writing to the CF memory card. Perhaps your card is a lttle slow, so you will see the message. I use the Sandisk Ultra II CF, labelled as 15Mb/sec and it is very very fast indeed - I don't have any lag with my XTi. Try a different CF, if it is fast enough, the message will go away. Ensure you format the card on the camera too.

New canon eos digital rebel xti

There have been several reports of CF cards that work with all cameras, except the Rebel XTi. It depends on the actual manufacturer of the card. Canon made a change mid-production that affected the data saving. Try another brand of card & you should not have that problem any more.
