Question about Samsung DLP HL-P5663W 56" TV
What causes white spots to appear on the screen of my Samsung DLP TV? Can anything be done to get rid of them? Set is two years old.
What causes the DMD board to go out?
No Picture, but have sound

dust can get on the DMD screen. Remove DMD board and look carefully, with a magnifier, on the little window even a spec of dust can cause weird translucent images (spots) on screen. Take a can of air and blow off the dust particles. Take care when reinstalling and look for correct azimuth/tilt on screen.
Also, check to see is the Digital Micromirror Device is not damaged (mirrors not working), you will need a digital signal analyzer (with static picture) to look at the signal going in to the chip to make sure it is actating the transistor which controls the mirrors, this is a tedious task, if you are using a standard analyzer, so what you could do is use a video signal generator and see if the dots occur, if they do suspect the DMD and either clean it with air or replace it.
I hope this helps,
