Add ram Satellite u845

Power down your Toshiba Satellite.

Unplug it from the wall.

Turn the machine over and remove the battery.

Locate the RAM compartment cover, which is usually located somewhere in the middle of the underside, and is about 4-by-4 inches.

Unscrew the RAM cover screw with a Phillips screwdriver and set aside.

Ground yourself by touching a metal object.

This will release any static electricity built up in your body, which can harm computer chips and components.

You can also use an anti-static wristband while you are working.

Remove RAM modules if needed.

This is most likely if you are upgrading the present RAM capacity with a larger RAM chip.

Press your fingers on the clips on either side of the chip to pop it out of the socket.

Pull the chip out of the RAM compartment, holding it by the sides of the circuit board rather than on the chip.

Insert the new RAM module into the socket. Align the RAM module so that the notch lines up with the tab on the side of the socket.

Gently lower the module into the socket. Press into place with your fingers.

Replace the RAM compartment cover. Insert the screw and tighten.

Replace the battery and secure with the lock.

Plug the Toshiba Satellite laptop back in and power up the system.

The upgraded RAM should be automatically recognized.

hope this helps

How to reseat aspire one ram

On the bottom of the laptop the RAM is located behind a small panel. Remove the panel and the RAM module is held in place by spring loaded levers on the sides of the RAM modules. Press the levers away from the sides of the RAM module and the module will pop up at an angle. Pull the RAM module away from the memory slot. To insert the RAM module, push the module at an angle into the slot then press the module down until the side locking levers lock into the sides of the RAM module.

When I turn on the laptop, I get 4 beeps in a row and it wont power up. What could be wrong?

The Emachines were running the Phoenix BIOS. 4 Beeps in Phoenix could indicate a RAM issue.
It can be a simpe issue of the RAM chip came loose, and should just be re-seated. Turn your machine upside down, and locate the MEMORY cover. These can usually be removed using a small star /phillips screwdriver.
Once opened remove the memory module by gently pressing outward on the retaining clips on both sides of the memory module until the memory module is released and tilts upward. Then, pull the module out of the slot.

To insert it again, hold the memory module at a 45-degree angle and insert it into the now empty memory slot. Gently press down on the module until the retaining clips click into place

or the RAM has been corrupted and you should replaced the RAM chip- it used DDR SDRAM 333MHz9_9_2012_7_26_58_pm.jpg

How do you install replacement memory to amilo pro series v2085 laptop

Most laptops have an access panel on the bottom of the laptop. Remove the screw on the panel and lift off the panel. The RAM module/s ia held in place by clips on the edge of the RAM module. Push the clips to the side and the RAM module will pop up at an angle and then pull the RAM module off the connector.
When you install the new RAM module/s just reverse the process of removing the RAM module/s.

Not booting with continuous beep

The beep you hear is the system saying it cannot detect the RAM. flip the notebook upside down and look for a small panel that has a circuit picture or lable on it, under there (you will need a screwdriver) you can pull out the ram and give it a service. on the side of the ram module there are 2 clips pull them gently away from the ram and the ram should pop up on a 45 degree angle, now with an eraser (pen eraser preffered) gently rub the copper pind of the ram module, wipe away ant eraser dust with a brush or soft cloth (try not to touch the pins) and reinset it lining up the key notch in the slot to the module, now gently push the ram in to place the 2 clips will fold onto the module and click. replace the cover and turn your system on. it is very important to install the ram correctly if you dont it can damage the module or worse the notbook itself .. good luck and hope this helps

How do you get the door open to install a battery in the satellite 1415-S173? I need to add more memory and I was told to first take out the battery. I can't get to the battery.

Hello !

Your laptop battery should just slide out. You may be thinking of the CMOS battery (silver, round battery). The external battery is easy to remove and it needs to be removed first.

Hope this helps.

Hi my laptop wouldn't start up so I bought a new battery and it still wont start up. I can get the power light and the battery light so I don't think it's the power cord I can pull out battery adn unplucg...

Reseat the RAM.
Sometimes the RAM needs reseating because the RAM module/s are not making proper electrical contact with the motherboard.
If this doesn't work then :-
The RAM module/s could be faulty, if you have two RAM modules, remove the both modules and insert one at a time and bootup you computer to test them to determine the faulty RAM module.

Ram upgrade

Step 5: Remove a memory or continuity module Continuity modules do not contain memory, but are placeholders to close the memory circuit. Use the following steps to remove a memory or continuity module:
  1. Pull out, and then press down on the holding clips that retain the memory modules. The memory modules should rise up slightly out the socket. Figure 5: Opening memory module tabs c00571682.gif
  2. Pull out the memory or continuity module (for RIMMs) and place it in a static-safe container.
Step 6: Add a memory module Use the following steps to insert a memory module into an empty socket:
  1. If RIMMs are being used, keep the following items in mind when purchasing and installing modules:
    • The memory configuration of channel A (the first two sockets) and channel B (the second two sockets) must be identical.
    • Continuity RIMMs must fill any open memory sockets.
    • When a continuity RIMM is required, it should be installed into the second socket.
  2. Align the memory module so the small notches on the lower edge line up with the raised marks in the socket. Figure 6: Memory module installation c00571683.gif 1 - DIMM (notches farther apart) 2 - RIMM (notches close together)
