Question about TP-LINK TLMR3420 300Mbps Wireless N 3G Router UMTSHSPAEVDO USB 24ghz Retail

Open Question

Trouble connecting ZTE Vodafone k3565z usb modem to tp-link 3G router

The modem and sim work fine when plugged directly into the laptop, but the sim card fails to connect when in the 3G router. The router says it has successfully recognised the modem and the model is listed as supported. I have installed latest firmware, but still no internet connection. Router takes a long time to id the modem and then a long time trying to connect. Eventually gives up. Could it be the associated software that loads automatically first (after quite a wait) on a laptop, is interfering with the modem-router link?

SOURCE: I have a TP-Link TL-WR941ND

Can you kindly let me know the settings on your modem and router. Whether they are connected via using bridging mode or ppoe mode. In order to find this simply enter in your browser and enter user id as admin and password as admin and hit enter. In advanced lan settings just click on first right hand side edit button and click next and see wether ppoe is selected or bridging is selected in order to ascertain the ip of wifi modem simply click on start button when connected to internet via wifi modem and select run type cmd and hit enter in the black window type tracert wait for few seconds the first ip in the list will be your modems ip. use the same method as described above to find which way is it connected to server bridging or ppoe.

SOURCE: TP-Link TL-WR642G recovery after failure upgrade to latest firmware

may find this page helpful. ash Its not for the TP-Link router but the same principle could be applied to you with the correct firmware. Its worked for me on more than a few occasions. Providing you can ping the router via a lan cable then the chances of recovering it are very high.

SOURCE: Internet connection speeds much slower when LAN is routed through a router as opposed to directly linked to the modem?

Depending on the Wireless device, speeds differ with the protocol a bit. A cable/hardwire connection will always be a faster. I would not get to hung up on speed test software, there are many factors when using different one's , your speed will vary wildly, form one to another. Your dealing with ALL the outside ISP equipment you have no control over. If you go to 10 different "Speed Test" software websites, you will get 10 different Uploads speeds, and 10 different Download speeds. Most of this is due to Outside equipment. You just may be Obsessing over something you can't control, but I could be wrong. Maybe your ISP is "throttling" your signal?

L cannot get internet when connected to my router, but l get internet when connected to modem directly.

Your ISP allows only one device to connect to their network.
When you change devices (router versus computer),
you need to power-off the ISP's modem, and unplug it.
Connect the router to the modem, and connect your computer to your router.
Plug the modem back in, and the modem will "forget" what device was previously connected.

To solve your problem:
go here

Basically what you have done is plugged it in but did not set up the router on a static or dynamic IP address.

Once you have established the IP address of the router and it is recognized by your ISP device (DSL, Cable, Satellite modem ....etc etc.) then you have to decide which device will be the DNS server and assign IP address to all the wireless devices that connect to it.

Lots of things can be wrong. You need to follow the steps on the set up link i gave you properly and in the correct order

How can i unlock my zte modem

First you will need to find out the whole name to the product you have ....

Like for example it a ZTE K3565Z USB Modem or an ZTE MF100 USB Modem...

Because you might need to look up the default username and password (aka Backdoor username and password).

So once you have that....I'm pretty sure it should have a tiny hole where there a button to reset the product ..... (Make sure if its a usb you plug it to the pc so it get power then try to press the reset button to hard reset)......

And if you dont find the default username and password then the hard reset should do it .......

Please leave a testimony and vote!!!
Also feel free to ask more questions.......

Sort of. It looks like Vodafone doesn't want people using routers with this device. You may be able to get around that if your router has the 'spoof mac address' functionality, but I imagine that's against Vodafone's Terms of Service.
