When i play a game it loads as normal, however during the game it will freeze for a few seconds play as normal then freeze again over and over again.

Make sure the console is out in the open. It needs to vent. Don't place it in a confined area. Make sure any vents on the console itself are not blocked or covered with dust. Sounds like it is overheating.
