I have a suggestion that may sound a bit over the top, Singer is no longer an independent company, it seems that Elna has bought or merged with Singer. Elna has a machine called the Xquisit and it is the identical machine to the Singer XL 6000, I have given lessons on the Elna machine by using my Singer to show what to do. You might contact Elna and see if there is someone to help with your problem or contact several service centers to see if they have any dead Singers and therefore orphaned embroidery units. Just a suggestion.

Singer Quantum XL-6000. The machine doesn't start but does power up?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Washing Machines to make model category.

This is what they say about this machine;

The Singer Quantum XL-6000 is the most technologically advanced sewing and embroidery machine on the market. If you're looking for a total fusion of innovation and imagination, look no further than this machine.

And in doing so, they make a machine that is software operating hardware and you can't fix them yourself. Try a Warranty Claim

Installing embroidery hoops on Singer Quantum XL-1000

First turn off the XL-1000 and remove the auxilliary bed. Attach the embroidery bed and push the lever on the front of the bed to the right. Switch to the embroidery presser foot. Thread the machine with the appropriate embroidery thread and bobbin thread. Set up the embroidery hoop. Turn on the machine. Lift the presser foot to the highest position. Slide the embroidery hoop under the presser foot such that the key on the hoop goes into the slot on the embroidery bed.

The directions for setting up the hoop are given in the manual for the Quantum XL-1000. Singer has most of their manuals here: https://www.singer.com/support .The current link to the manual is https://www.singer.com/sites/default/files/product_manual/1259_xl-100_0.pdf . The section on embroidery starts on page 54 (page 56 of the PDF). Page 57 has the information on securing the hoop to the embroidery frame.

I hope this helps.

The cable that came with my singer embroidery machine doesn't fit into my computer. It fits into the embroidery machine but not into my laptop. Where can I buy the correct one or an adaptor?

You need a cable with an FTDI chip in it. I ordered mine from here: http://www.cablesalesusa.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=472&products_id=1968

Singer Quantum XL 6000 embroidery unit keeps saying the embroidery hoop is loose or not installed. There is some problem with the electronic contacts and the embroidery hoop. Can't get any help.

Try push in and push out your hoop several times into the carriage, then if the problem is still there, most likely the carriage hoop lock sensor is faulty.

We are trying to use a monogram wizard file wtih the singer quantum XL-6000. We have the image saved in a file but are not sure how to import to embroidery machine. Please help.

You must convert the Monogram Wizard file to a format that your XL 6000 can read. If you have the Singer Sew Ware Conversion Tool, you can do this by opening the conversion software and simply saving the file as an (note: Fixya thinks the "dot triple x" file format is profanity, but it's the main file format used for the XL-6000 so I had to type it out this way) or a .sew format. Once the file is in the correct format, you can then import it to the XL 6000. To import, you must have a special cable (serial port to USB) that has an FTDI chip in it. Only serial port to USB cables with the FTDI chip will work. Here is a link where you can purchase said cable: http://www.cablesalesusa.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=472&products_id=1968

After using the cable with FTDI chip to connect your computer to your XL 6000, you must then ensure the com port settings match. I am including below some links that may be helpful to you in figuring all this out. These documents were helpful to me when I was trying to figure out all this stuff for my XL 6000, and I hope they will also be helpful to you. Blessings to you and yours.

How to change the COM port for USB Serial adapter on Windows 7

How to configure the Singer Approved USB Adapter with Windows 7

I also have additional helpful files, but this site will not allow me to upload a file in .pdf format. If you would like to provide your email address, I would be happy to email the documents to you. One is a workbook for the XL 6000 (much more detailed than the Owner's Manual).

Here are two additional pages that might be helpful: trying-use#solution-section-lzldskb0i2jni14zl4eksues-1-3.jpg trying-use#solution-section-lzldskb0i2jni14zl4eksues-1-6.jpg
