Hi guys, I had not been able to active my iPhone or use it since my account on AT&T was a business account and they don't accept them. I had to wait until monday for the business support to open and change my account to individual and I am still waiting for activation. Unfortunately this is the short version of what really happened in the last 3 days, since I was transfered from one support person to the next about 20 times spending 2-3 hours on hold everyday.
My question is this - did it happened to anyone else? Please let me know how to solve this fast. I don't want to spend another 3 days waiting on hold for the AT&T people, I want to know which department I need and what to tell them to activate my iPhone account.
Any information will be highly appreciated, I am desperate.

- Thanx ViewFinder, I have talked to AT&T customer service yesterday after I read your solution and they said it will be activated tomorrow(monday)... hopefully that will be the end of it, I am tired of waiting...
I had a similar problem (I'm an "old ATT Wireless" customer) that was solved by customer service after a long wait and two transfers. ATT greatly underestimated the initial demand for iPhone, particularly the "transition" customers. If you just signed up for a new account it took minutes; older accounts took days.
The iPhone SIM card was activated quickly once a customer service person got on the line (they told me how to put the SIM in my old phone to get service), but the iPhone didn't get activated for a couple of days.
