Need Directions on how to change a maintenance kit for hp 2420

The 50.3 is a fuser Temperature error. If your pages have toner and image but are smudging or smearing you know the fuser is not heating and needs to be replaced.

If your printer is still under warranty contact HP Customer Care for warranty replacement of fuser part numbers: RM1-1082 for 110 volt, RM1-1083 for 220 volt. (888) 999-4747.

If your printer is out of warranty, suggest you purchase a maintenance kit part # CB388A HP maintenance kit for LaserJet P4014 P4015 P4515, includes other needed high wear parts.

This is a simple answer, you have to replace a kit, Call hp tech support. 1800 334 5144 and ask to speak to someone in the parts department.

I found this about your error.

Problem: When a print job is sent, paper doesn't pick up and a 52 error is displayed on the LCD panel.

Cause: The scanner motor is not spinning up to the correct speed. This problem can only be fixed by replacing the scanner motor.

Solution: Replace the necessary parts, all of which are included in this repair kit (along with easy to follow directions).

To ensure optimum print quality, the printer will prompt you to perform printer maintenance every 150,000 pages. When the PERFORM PRINTER MAINTENANCE message appears on the control panel, you will need to purchase a printer maintenance kit and install the new parts. To check the number of pages the printer has printed, print a configuration page.

To print a configuration page:
1 Press [Menu] until INFORMATION MENU appears.
2 Press [Item] until PRINT CONFIGURATION appears.
3 Press [Select] to print the configuration page.


To order the printer maintenance kit, contact an HP authorized service or support provider. (See the telephone support flyer included with the printer.)

The kit includes:
• fuser assembly
• transfer roller
• feed rollers
• necessary instructions

Just Call an HP technician to solve this as the Maintnenance Kit usually gives this types of Problems. You need to replace the KIT & everything will be fine.

If not, then I just Google'd for "HP LJ III Maintenance Kit" to find that one.

Take out the toner cartridge and paper cassette , turn the printer upside down. The feed roller should not free wheel. Sometimes the roller ends break off,

1) Your paper tray may be too full, makes it heavy to lift and not enough pressure for the pick up roller.
2) Pick up roller is slippery, wipe it clean with alcohol to make it abbrasive.
