Question about Kenmore 9297x Top Load Stacked Washer / Dryer

1 Answer

No spin My washing machine looks similar to this one, but mine is white and a little older. My washing machine will not spin on any setting/cycle. It will agitate but not spin. I replaced the capacitor or commonly known as the spin solenoid. It is trying to kick into spin but nothing. When I loosened the belt dramatically the motor spun a little bit. I have tried adjusting the belt. And briefly thought it was the lid switch, but on the model I have it will pause on any cycle once the lid is opened. I hear the machine try to drain throughout the spin cycle, is that normal? I am running low on ideas. Does any one know anything I don?t.

Re: no spin

You say the machine is tryng to drain. does in drain? if it doesn't the pressure (fill) switch is preventing it from spinning because there is too much water (weight) in the tub

Ge washing machine fills up with water on spin cycle

Sounds like the timer is screwed... Sending out the wrong signals and the dryer is doing the rinse cycle when it should just be the spin cycle. Do t know what your timer looks like in that washer but most now days look like the picture. 11_11_2013_2_52_52_am.png

When the spin cycle begins the washer vibirates and moves on the floor. After the spin cycle reaches the maxium speed it stops. The springs are fine, but what else could be wrong?

The machine is probably not leveled properly. To level the machine, partly fill it with water. Make sure that the drum is standing in the middle of the machine and then adjust the machine until the water is at the same level all around at the nearest set of holes to the water. Check that the drum is still in the center of the outer drum. Make sure that the adjusting feet are all firmly on the floor and that you cannot rock the machine at all by hand. A top loader must be 100% level or it will shake.

I have a GWL11 Fisher Paykel washer. It was running fine then it was beeping and had stopped-- the spin light was the only one left on, although water is in it. Basin looks lower than I recall. It won't...

Hi just read you posting. Now when the machine was beeping was the spin light the only light that was on while it was beeping? If this is the case then my manual tells me your Motor Controller is faulty and needs replacing. Please confirm which light was on when the machine was beeping because the motor controller module is not cheap.Looking forward to your reply.

Baumatic washer draining but not spinning

I had this problem, may be an easy fix if similar issue: Remove back cover. Take a look at the underneath the drum towards the right hand side. There may be a hook on a wire hanging there. If it is just hanging, there, it should be hooked onto a grey coloured lever, which has a hole on the edge of it. This is the drum brake which during the spin cycle releases the brake allowing the washer to spin. Hook the hook onto this grey lever through the hole. Replace the back cover. Test the machine with a towel or something, allow it to fill a little, then jump to the spin setting and see if it spins. Worth a shot, these are great machines.

Not draining water from tub-goes through cycle but water remains in the tub at end of cycle

I had a similar problem. The pannel under the door can be removed by 3 screws. After that if you look there should be a water pump there (it will have a drain hose from the washing machine (black) and a drain hose that leads to the back of the machine). There is a white srew cap that is a filter. Take the cap off and then remove the filter and check for clogs. Replace the filter and turn machine on drain/spin cycle. Put your hand on the pump to ensure that the pump is working. If so you should be all set.

Kenmore HE2 won't finish spin cycle

you have blockage in you drain plug. to solve this problem you'll have to remove the lower front panel of your machine by removing the 3 (1/4") screws on the vary bottom of the machine. once the panel is removed you'll see a 1 1/2" white PVC drainage plug. turn the inner plug to the left in till open. (WARNING ALL THE WATER IN THE DRUM WILL DRAIN THOUGH THIS PLUG) remove debris likes socks or everything that's there replace the panel and your all set.

GWL11 Burned Up?!?!

Go and look at my issue on Eco Smart that won't drain.

Unplug washer. Bail out water as much as you can. Look for water dripping in black motor area. If you find that, read on to see if this is your issue.

You can take off black motor/white housing all in one piece. On mine, water was dripping from white plastic housing and onto motor. had small amt of water leak out, then wouldn't run at all and smelled like electrical issue. Look for white chip on upper rim of that white plastic housing where it attaches to machine bottom. Push in on clip, and give the whole white plastic thing a twist and it comes off--motor and white plastic. Unhook electric couplers.

You either have 120V or 240V (mine is older GWL10US model) unit. White plastic and black motor are one unit when ordered. Save yourself the service call that I paid. Good luck!
