Question about Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Silver Edition Graphic Calculator

1 Answer

TI 84 Calculator has unwanted tabs at bottom of Y= screen.......?

When I open my Y= screen there are 5 tabs at the bottom: an equal sign, and greater than and less than signs. And in the upper left corner next to the Plot1 there is an X=. Also, in the WINDOW the first thing it asks for is the ShadeRes= instead of Xmin=. It still shows Xmin= and all the other stuff like Xmax= but that's under the ShadeRes=. Plus, in my GRAPH screen there are tabs at the bottom that say Shades, PoI-Trace, and (?). They don't even work when I press the buttons at the bottom of the tab. I think all the tabs are there because I was exploring the App4Math and CabriJr Apps. It must of changed one of my settings. But how do I change my calculator back without deleting any Apps or Prgms.

Ok, your calculator is running the program Inequalz
what you have to do is
go into APPS, go to the program Inequalz, and it will give you options. choose the one that says 'Quit Inequal'

that should work

How do you use the equal sign on the ti-84

The equal sign of the TI83/84/Plus is a relational operator like less than , greater than, less than or equal to) You use it when you are testing if two values (numbers, expressions, or matrices) are equal.
For example, if in one your programs what you do at a certain time depends on the equality of two expressions, you test the equality by a statement :
If A=B do this action.

For my Ti-84 plus edition when I type in the graph equations there is an equals sign, a greater than sign, a less than sign, and some other signs at the bottom of the screen. How do I get rid of this?

You, or someone else played with INEQALZ (inequalty graphing) applications. The problem is thet it remains in memory and takes over the graphing duties from the native OS. If you do not want Inequalz to manage the graphing, just kick it out of memory.
Press [APPS¨] key.
Use arrows to scroll through the list of APPS.
Locate INEQALZ and highlight it.
Press [ENTER]
In the new screen INEQALZ RUNNING, press the number that corresponds to the option Uninstall.

How to you change Y1 great than or equal to, to =

If you are running the Inequalz application, you can access the menu tabs at the bottom of screen by pressing the [ALPHA] key. Thus pressing [ALPHA] [Y=] in [Y=] editor puts an [=] sign after the Y-variable.

I have 3 unwanted tabs at the bottom of my TI-84 graph screen : Shades, PoI-Trace, ? How can I get rid of these? Thank you!

Natively the OS of the TI84 does not use tabs: It only uses menus and submenus. These tabs come from the game or application you were running before. Terminate the application and clear the RAM because third party applications have a tendency to linger in memory.
Hope it helps.
