VIP 221k replacing VIP 322 receiver

Replacing a dual SD receiver(VIP 322) with a dual tuner HD/SD receiver(VIP 221K). Don't have any smart cards for the new receivers. Also adding another VIP 221K as a replacement HD solution for the second tuner TV that is a VIP 722.

SOURCE: I have a ViP 722.

Okay I am not positive I have this right as far as the configuration of the system but I will give it a shot. If you run the 722 to the tv using rca's you get the hum. I assume this as there are no inputs on a dish 722 receiver. I can suggest one possible solution which is to buy an rf modulator. It will convert the signal from rca to coax so you can connect as you wish. There are several types out there so ensure you get the one that converts from rca to coax. I would suggest the following configuration: Remove all connections from tv and hook 722 up via rca's to rca input 1 on the tv, check for hum. If it is present now you need a new 722 as it is passing to much power thru the connection. If there is no hum connect your cable and tivo to the tv via whatever inputs you have remaining. Lastly connect the DVD player to another input that is free. You will have to system through your inputs to view the three sources but should not have the hum. I hope this solves your issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya and let me know if I can be of further assistance.

SOURCE: 322 dual tuner-failure to receive signal only to one TV

If you have one cable leading from the wall toward the back of the receiver you can disconnect the seperator and diplexer (if equipped) from the SAT 1 and SAT 2 ports and connect the line from the wall directly to one of the ports and run a check switch test. You should get a 1 of 2-4 depending on lnb type on the tuner you connected the line to and a 1 of 38 on the other. Perform this operation for both SAT 1 AND SAT2 as described above. If you have the 1 of 38 appearing only on the port that the line is not connected to then the receiver is good and the problem may be the seperator which is the silver device that has two wires going to the back of the receiver initally and one port connected to the SAT port of a diplexer. Disconnect the diplexer and hook the seperator to the receiver and run the SAT line from the wall to the single port of the seperator and do a check switch. If you don't get a 1 of 38 it is good and you have a bad diplexer. If your system does not use diplexers and you are experiencing the loss on TV2 you may have a bad TV2port on the receiver. You can take the wire from the TV2 PORT(in home distribution system) and place it on the 3-4 that the TV1 line is run from. Then go to TV2 and put that tv on channel 3 and see if you have picture. If the problem is at TV1 reverse the process by connecting the line on the 3-4 ut to the TV2 port and putting TV1 on chanel 60 or 73 and see if you get picture. if either produces picture on the bad tv the port to that TV is faulty. If you were still unable to get picture it may be a cabling, connector, barrel isssue that requires a tech to visit. Hope this assists you. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

SOURCE: my dish 322 receiver wont work 2 tv,to get service

  • There are two satellite inputs on the back of a 322. There may be a single cable going to a splitter connected to these two ports or two individual cables.
  • If there are two cables swap them, if you still get signal on the same input only then the receivers input is dead.Otherwise follow the bad cable and ensure it is not damaged or disconnected. Swap the location on the other end and see if the issue stays on the same cable. If so replace the cable, if not replace the LNB or Switch.
  • If there is a splitter bypass it and connect the single cable directly to the input that does not work. If there is no signal the port is bad, replace the receiver. If there is signal then reconnect the splitter, press menu 6-1-1, check switch, and then test. Allow the test to finish. If the two inputs do not match replace the splitter... Its called a DP Seperator

SOURCE: dish vip 622 and vip 722k frequent picture freeze and restart

Sounds like a signal strength issue. You may have either a low signal or something like a tree limb is blowing into the signal path dropping the signal strength to a point low enough to causes issues.

Singer Portable 221K1 EF285029 what is the date of manufacture

The EF285029 serial number was assigned to a 221K sewing machine after Aug 17, 1949. The machine probably stayed on the assembly line for several months. The exact date of the build can't be determined since Singer assigned 10000 serial numbers for the model at one time. However, Singer didn't add another batch of serial numbers to the 221K production until November 1949.

See http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-ef-series-serial-numbers.html for the details.

I hope this helps.

How should I connect my denon avr 1906 to my 32" ES6300 Series 6 SMART 3D Full HD LED TV Model numberUE32ES6300U in order to get dolby digital from the tv's tuner please?

Use an optical cable.

Be aware though. Your TV has a DVB-T tuner. It picks up the Freeview standard definition (SD) channels, but not the Freeview HD ones. Dolby Digital sound only comes from the Freeview HD channels.

Your TV will pass Dolby Digital from any source connected to a HDMI port to the Optical Out. It will also pass DTS. But the internal Freeview DVB-T tuner doesn't generate Dolby Digital, just stereo and stereo with Dolby Surround encoding where you use ProLogic II for decoding.

Will the Panasonic DMR-E30 DVD Recorder replace my STB to receive the digital free to air stations on my tv?

Only if it has a built in digital tuner, and, if it does, the digital is only SD (standard definition). If not, you would still need the set top box to receive HD (you could connect the box to the DVD recorder (for HD and/or SD) as required if you wish to record channels). Most set top boxes have both SD and HD channels in their tuners, so it would most likely be the next best option if your DVD recorder does not have a built in digital tuner. You can check your DVD recorder's on screen setup menu to see if digital services exist within it. Either way, keep your set top box just in case.

If you've tried replacing the batteries in the remote, and have checked to make sure the small antenna on the back of the receiver is attached, then yes, you remote's bad. Contact Dish for troubleshooting and replacement.

Good luck.

Added a 322 reciever to my lake house to be able to watch tv in 3rd room i had 2 standard recievers before. i installed a dish pro quad lnb & reciever had a separator w/it says dp plus 123254 tuner 2...

Is TV 2 off the 322 receiver being back fed from the receiver or do you have a direct connection to the 3rd room? If it is a direct connection, you would screw the coax from the 3rd bedroom directly to the TV 2 Home Distribution channel 21-69 out port.

If you are back feeding, you need 2 diplexers that connect 1) by the receiver and 2) between the receiver and the 3rd TV. The back feeding will use the same cable coming from the dish to the receiver.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Only recieve HD programs on my Vip 612 receiver. I want to receive non HD channels as well

Hello! The guide might be set to only HD. You will find this out by going into the guide. At the top Left of your guide, you will see that it says left to the right of the DISH Network logo. If it says ALL HD, then just press the GUIDE button again, until the list says ALL CHAN or ALL SUB. This way, you can view not only HD channels, but SD channels as well! Hope this helps!!!!

Aspect ratio, cuts off edges of picture.(NOT THE T.V, THE RECEIVER!)

Dilon, 311's have no aspect ratio adjustment and is not able to switch from the standard 4:3 setting therfore if it is connected to a TV with a large screen the TV has to stretch the picture to fill the screen thus cutting off portions of the picture. I suggest you get a HD receiver as they will be able to change the format and aspect ratio but even these make some sacrifices to fill the screen as well. Most notable of the losses will be the ticker tape at the bottom of the screen where sports scores usually are displayed. Thhis is all a result of the plethora of screen sizes on the market and will not be resolved anytime soon that I am aware. Dish has a 211 which is a one room HD receiver, 612 which is a one room dual tuner receiver with DVR, 222 which is a dual tuner two room receiver with HD capability to the first location and SD to the second, 622 and 722 which are both dual tuner two room DVR receivers with HD to the first location and SD to second. I am sorry I could not bear better news but I wanted to thank you for using Fix Ya and if you need further assistance please let me know.
