SOURCE: Fuses keep blowing out

IF water is not going in the drum It sounds like the water valve coil has finally failled , It has been blowing fuses ,because the ccoil on the water valve was getting weak . change this water valve and you sohould be ok , but before doing so chaeck to see if you have the proper voltage going to this valve when It is calling to open ,if the power is there and the water is turned on the valve should be letting water in the machine . you can also take a ohm meater and check the valve for proper resistance . . If the machine is up in years I would change this valve . from the chack I mentioned earlier . hope this helps you

How to repair maytag washer so it stops blowing fuses

The problem may not be with the washer, you may have it plugged into a circuit that made to carry the load. Check the owners manual to see if it tells you what the draw is and then see if that circuit is made to carry that large of a load

I own a maytag atlantis top load washer model LAT4914AAE and the fuse located behind the knob controls blows when ever i go to wash a load

The reason the fuse keeps blowing is because one of the two switches their where the fuse is is bad and drawing to much amperage so the fuse blows. THe lid switch/fuse asm comes together and it should be replaced.

The part number for that switch assambly is 22001682 it could be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at;

My washer continually blows a fuse

If your machine is the Maytag stacked washer/dryer combo, there are a couple of areas I would look at. The first is the lid switch assembly. The fuse is a safety device designed to blow if the lid switch malfunctions. The two lid switches interact and if they don't both switch at the same time it can blow the fuse.
The second thing to try is to wash a load on cold water only and see if the fuse blows. See if there is a water supply issue. Check the water inlet valve. Remove the water supply hoses and check the small screens in the water inlet valve. Make sure they are clean and clear of rust or debris. Use a mulitmeter or ohmmeter to check the solenoids for continuity. A lack of continuity would indicate a faulty solenoid and the water inlet valve assembly will need replaced. These are a couple of things to consider. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Blowing fuses

if you have a friend with a multimeter then you can trace the fault backwards from the plug to see when exactly the short circuit happens without plugging the machine into the mains using the multimeter terminals as the mains terminal and advance the timer by hand to see where the short accurses on the dial so you can see weather the short is the heating element or not that's the main cause of short circuits eric

Fuse keeps blowing out in my maytag washing machine

the power surge probably shorted out something in the main wire harness or fried your motor. remove the screws from the control panel and look for any wires that are discolored, charred or disconnected. in the event you do't find it there trace the wiring thru the cabinet looking for the same thing. if you don't find that, replace the motor
