Re: Power Circuit

The simple answer you will not find any parts available for digi cameras- because there are none- the makers don't work that way in the main. If the camera is Young[ish] the Tech Support team may offer to replace the camera or charge a modest fee for a swap out. But finding spares - Nah!

The lcd monitor is black can not see anything on it.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.
Some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.

Canon 350D and Sigma 100 300 compatability?

Something is bad with the lens or it needs to have an upgraded circuit put it to make it compatible (if it is older). Usual cause of lens failure is the aperture unit. Almost impossible to get Sigma parts these days.

How to fix cf reader pins

If they are only slightly bent you may be able to straighten them with a small flat screwdriver blade. If they are bent all the way down they will have to be replace - not a job for an amateur! If the two center pins are bent over and touching other pins, then there may be circuit damage - they are the power pins and touching other pins that are output pins blows part of the CF control circuit. This would require replacement of the rear circuit board, which requires programming with Canon software (which they do no supply to anyone)

Lense doesn't retract

Common faults for this:

The lens motor is defective, lens gears jammed. Fix is lens unit replacement.

The lens servo drive circuit is not functioning. Fix is to replace the circuit board that contains the lens servo control circuits.

The connector assembly between the lens is not making proper contact, or the lens wire assembly is defective. Fix is replacement of the cable and connectors if applicable in the particular model. If the connectors on the circuit board or lens are defective, then the appropriate unit must be replaced.

No power is going to the lens unit, and or the lens servo circuit. Fix is replacement of the drive circuit board, or the power inverter if it uses a separate feed for the lens only.

Generally, with these low cost cameras they generally do not pay to service out of warranty. The service cost can approach the cost of replacing the camera.

Common causes of failures in these cameras is from water (getting wet), or dropping, or rough usage.

I can not shut my camera off. Every time I do after a one second delay it turns back on. The only way I can shut it down is to take the battery out. This happens in all settings

i think this is a faul of the power button. if the power button remains pushed the camera turns on alone. of the power button. i dont know your specific caera. but its possible to find a faulty camera on ebay but the camera does not have your same problem. you can pull out the power circuit and substitute with your. the care circuit are some a puzzle alle pieces are distintly power circuit lens circuit motherboard flash circuit. open faultu camera that you buy so you can see exactly how you nust do to disassemble the circuit, and later instal the circuit on your camera. its important to protect the circuit from static eletricity. and it s important that you pull out the batterie befor to disassemble.

Canon g7 stopped working, lens out but no power

Most likely a loose screw shorted out the power in the camera. For service on these, we recommend They are the best for service on the Canon Powershots and they are not expensive at all. I'll post a video below from a customer referral for this problem on the G7 to them. They are the place for help with this problem.

Wont' turn on! Power button lodged?

It sounds like either the power switch itself or the connection between the switch and main board could be faulty. You would most likely need to have a service centre replace the power switch circuit to rectify the problem. Best of luck!

No power

Gee, hang on I'll get my crystal ball out :-) I'm afraid it's impossible to say. It could be anything from a dirty battery connection to a full blown power board meltdown. Without having it on the bench it's impossible to say. Try the uwsual silly stuff, make sure the batteries are inserted the right way, make sure they're fully charged, make sure the battery ends are clean, make sure the battery connections in the camera are clean. Try your power supply instead of the batteries, Try a different set of batteries. Next stop, your friendly repair man.
