Implementing the Datamining add-on

I learned that there's a data mining addon to the Excel 2007. Has anyone experienced with it? If so What are your thoughts and where can I find examples and tutorials? 10x. D.

Ok - if your question is "What is Excel" - then the answer is that it is a spreadsheet program that allows you the ability to compute data (usually numbers) for example, pulling together a list of hours worked by employees and adding them up automatically. It also can be used to develop sophisticated computational models and I have used it to develop professional services proposal sizing tools using formulas and functions ... which is a good segwey into my other answer.

If your question is "what is a function or formula in Excel" - then the answer is a function or formula in Excel is a collection of mathematical, text, statistical, etc. preprogrammed tools that allows you to manipulate the data you have in your spreadsheet e.g. a SUM() function that adds a series of numbers, and AVERAGE() funtion that computes the average of a series of numbers, etc.

The best site would be a matter of opinion. However, this link: will provide a lot of information and training on Excel 2007. I would also get a good book to learn from. There are tons out there. The Excel Bible and Microsoft Excel Step by Step are just a couple of books your might want to look at. Both are great for learning.

Learning excel program

I would start looking at Microsoft's Excel help and how -to pages. I don't know what version of Excel you are running, but below are links to the Excel 2007 how to, and the last one is the link to the Excel 2003 how to. I hope this helps. (Excel 2007) (Excel 2003)

The best way is to contribute in Learning class outdoors, because beeing between other studens and masters could growth your knowledge well, you can ask your questions easily and get the answers clearly and useful.Also, other studens will ask other useful questions which help you to increase your knowledge,infact, people there, share their idea and it's good for you. ---- The other way is to use books, learning books about Excell,  and of course you should not stand just on one book, you have to study many books about it. ----- Other useful thing is to travel between websites about excell and forum.Websites are full about excell 2007, they are updating soon and you can get your answers through these websites, and you could learn many tricks and notes about excell 2007. -------- the other thing is Media files about excel, but i guess they aren't enough quality to teaching! -------- Don't forget the practise, and do some real projects to get enough exprienss.

Macro to be used in Excel

Instead of me teaching u. i would suggest u learn it by following the simple steps.

1. Click Tools > Macros > record
2. do some common operation like copying data, creating graphs, etc.
3. press alt+F11 to go to vb editor, to see ur macro recorded
4. study it ... u will learn easily

Budgets in excel

Dear Madiha35,


I would recommend the use of the Table Function in Excel.


Here are the steps in Excel 2007, if this does not work for your version please add comment for me to reply to.

Excel 2007 had a budget format workbook

New workbook, Select Budgets in the last hand navigation, Select Personal Budget.


Step 1:  Enter your data into the worksheet.


Step 2:  Create Table

             Highlight the relevant data

             On the insert tab, click on Table


Step 3:  Verify Table range is correct, Click OK


Step 4:  Select the cell you where you wish to Sum Data.

         Click on Autosum.


Step 5:  To Insert new data

         Click on the sum row in the table, (Not the entire worksheet row)

         Right click, Insert, Insert Table rows from above


Step 6:  Enter new data in row


Step 7:  Data is automatically calculated in formula.
