Do you see a small yellow loud speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner of your screen near the time?

What is the exact make and model of your PC. Include model number and if possible serial. Then we can get over to and search for the drivers

A male to male audio cable should work depending on your laptop, but don't think you would need a driver. I used a male audio to male RCA and hooked this to my TV and works great.
