Can't unlock my laptop.

Asus Eee PCs run on the Windows XP SP2 operating system. Accounts in Windows XP SP2 can easily be password-protected, but the same password can just as easily be forgotten.

At moments like this, you'll wish you had chosen a password that is both secure and easy to remember, or kept a record of it in a private place.

The quickest way to get back on the computer is to seek out someone with an administrator account on the computer.

Press "Control" + "Alt" + "Delete" at the same time on the locked screen.

Select "Switch User."

Remember, only an administrator account registered on this computer can unlock the computer.

Type in "administrator" in the user name box.

Type the password that corresponds to the administrator user name in the password box .

Click "OK." The Asus Eee PC is unlocked.

If the Admin password does not allow you access to the drive then you MUST have the hdd password...........Even if you put the drive in another pc you won't have access to it (a hdd password is encoded on the disk). You can't even format it and use it again.The HD password is set together with the BIOS password, completely locking in all the hardware. To the best of my knowledge, even your hard disk manufacturer isn't able to unlock a password

Beeping on startup is an indication of a RAM memory problem. If you have more than 1 stick of RAM installed, try removing 1 and rebooting. If it boots up, you may have a motherboard issue that won't allow your machine to utilize all of your RAM memory.

The user name or password is incorrect. Verify that CAPS LOCK is not on, and then retype the current user name and password. Or you must be trying a wrong password.

8.) In Internet Explorer, Menu>Options>Connections
Auto Detect Settings: Unchecked
Select Network: Wap Network

9) MMS SETUP.
Inbox>Menu>Options>Account Setup>MMS>Menu>Edit Connections.
Delete any Orange Settings that are there.

10) Menu>Add

11) Click Done twice to return to the MMS Setup Screen

9.Edit Password to CINGULAR1 (UPPERCASE)
10.Edit Auth Type. to Secure
11. Save

Select Back --> Select Back

***Second Step***

Select WAP
1.Select Settings --> Edit Profile
3.Select the first entry --> Edit Profile
5.edit the name to whatever you would like
6.Edit Homepage to http://device.home
7.Edit Data Account to the Name you established in the First Step
8.Edit Connection type to HTTP
9.The IP address is 066.209.011.032 and the port number is 8080
10.Edit Username to [email protected]
11.Edit Password to CINGULAR1
Select back or done
Select Activate Account


You should now see a Black [G] in the upper left of your screen.

MMS

Select Messages --> MMS --> Message Settings
Select Server Profile
Select the first entry
Select Edit Profile
Edit Rename Profile to whatever name you would like
Edit Home Page to http://mmsc.cingular.com
Edit Data Account to the same data account you created for WAP
Edit Connection Type to HTTP the IP address is 066.209.011.032 and the port is 8080
Edit the Username to [email protected] (UPPERCASE)
Edit the Password to CINGULAR1 (UPPERCASE)

Select Done or Save
Make sure to activate the profile and you are good.
