SOURCE: LG 42PX4MVH PLASMA TV - Sound but no picture.

I have the same issue with my LG 42PC3DVA and I narrowed it down to the Y SUS board. After a little research there are a few items that are prone to go. The ceramic fuses (as you found), sometimes the capacitors on the Y SUS, Z SUS, and power supply go along with them You can tell because thy will be bulged at the top instead of flat. I replaced a few of my capacitors - they are only $0.89 each so it was MUCH cheaper than a board.

The other thing that is common on the Y SUS in particular are the FETs (also called MOSFET). They can be replaced if you are good with a soldering gun but they are static sensitive so be grounded. They are also a bit tricky to test so you may want to do some research on how to determine if this is the issue... or you can just replace the whole board.

Testimonial: "Thank you for identifying the problem but I would like to think that Sony will bend the rules a little on the one year guarantee as it is just the one year and I imagine the repair required might be expensive as the TV was to start with. I will ring Sony and test their public relations and discretion. Have a good day."

SOURCE: I have 50" lg Plasma tv. When I start it first

The UF capacitors on your PSB-power supply board are blown. Your tv is putting itself in fault protection mode to keep it from damaging more components internally. Soon enough the TV won't come on at and you'll be left with a blinking fault LED.

My TV is a LG 47LN5700-UH I had a lightning strike near the house. Afterward TV would start but not boot completely. Now it won't start at all. Cable box also got fried at the same time.

The led driver AND the T-con board are bad. If you could see a picture with the flashlight then the T-con board would be good. It is not. The led driver can be on the main board or the power supply board. You can get these parts from here: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy

I have no power to my LG 26LC55 tv

Ok had the same issue with mine, opened the unit up and found the Dark Blue capacitor had blown, the top of the capacitor had bulged out, A friend ordered some 3300 uF 10V capacitors from RS components [you have to buy them in packs of 5]

Lay the unit on a soft surface,

Undo the 4 large screws that hold the base on

Then undo the screws around the side, there is on the back as well

You will find 2 screws in the connections area

Lift the over off

The power board is located on the left hand side

Remove the power lead on the bottom of the board

Then the other cables.

Undo the 4 screws that hold the board on place

Locate the capacitor it's a blue one, run your fingers across the tops of the capacitors, if you find one that is leaking or raised that's failed

Turn the power board upside down

With a soldering iron and desolder tool, desolder the capacitor

Make note of the position of the + / - locations

Insert the new capacitor and resolder

Also check the power fuse located on the lower left of the power board

Good luck it worked just great with mine

No picture, sound ok

I have a similar issue. Sometimes the entire screen goes black and sometimes only one-half - either the top or bottom half goes black. The only solution we have found is to gently tap the TV (usually the front side) and the picture will come back for awhile. It almost seems heat related as it only goes out after the first 10 minutes of use. There must be a fix to this.
