The dryer is level. It is inside the dryer -may be a bearing or the drum wheel?

it sounds like the drum is sticking

my dryer only used to make a thumping noise sometimes but now the noise is becoming more and more frequent. i pulled the dryer away from the wall and made sure it was level. eventually i guess i will have to take my dryer apart.

Check the 4 feet & make sure top of of appliance is level. These 4 feet will have threaded adjustments, just tilt the dryer back and should be able to turn with your hand or may require pliers, good luck.

Creda simplicity TVU1 tumble dryer is making a thumping noise while drying

Hi dave hemming.
I do not believe it is a bearing that is causing your thumping noise
*****************************************************************************
No...you do not need a new drum...all you need is new drum rollers
You probably have a flat spot on one of the rollers, it will make the thumping sound when the drum rotates.
Go to the following webpage and get your drum rollers and install them and that should take care of the noise you are hearing

Thumping noise when drum makes a full revolution

Open the cabinet and look at the screws that hold the vane (paddles) on inside the drum. They will come loose and make the noise you described.

My new dryer thumps every revolution

Flat spots on the support rollers from sitting in storage will make a thump. So will heavy wet clothes if they are not spun dry enough from the washer. This may lessen as the unit is used but since it is in warranty a service call to rule out major problems is in order.

Stackable dryer makes thumping noises -think its a broken belt

9 out of 10 times this is due to a bad roller. This is not something you can do yourself. A stack model is just too complicated.

LG ELECTRIC DRYER

Henry, its going to be 1 of 2 things. Check inside your drum, see if the vent in the rear has burning or discoloration around it. If it does, it sounds as if your vent is restricted causing the unit to overheat, so clean/fix/replace the venting and your support pulleys will need to be repalce ie flat spots from overheat. If there is no scoarching marks and you know its not the vent or heat issue, the drum seam may have parted causing the thump as every revolution is made.
