Question about Uniden 2.4 GHz Expandable Phone System with Digital Answering Machine

Open Question

Uniden phone says" Line on Hold" 50 % of time! Can't use then...c

We have a Uniden PowerMAX 2.4 GHz cordless telephone/answering machine. About half the time we cannot pick it up and get a connection...even with incoming calls... When click on the 'talk' button...it says:  "Welcome, please wait" Line on hold. Eventually (an hour or more later) it will clear itself up. There is nothing I do that I am  aware of to put it into this mode. any ideas? Thanks Leela

You need to reset the main base unit. Unplug the power from the back of the base. While the power is disconnected, press and hold the delete key while reconnecting the power. Wait for a long beep tone. When the display shows 88 or P, press play button one time. If you have a phone without an answering machine, disconnect the power from the back of the base, press and hold find hs button while reconnecting power.

Uniden should have their own site, if not call your local PC repair shop and ask them for the manufacturers site.

My phone does not ring when a call is received

I've found this to be a problem with regular phone lines (POTS) and Uniden phones. Uniden phones do not seem to support 90v @ 20hz ringing voltage / frequency. They work fine in every aspect except for ringing. These phones do work well with voip, where you aren't connected to the telephone company and have calls routed over the internet. The boxes that handle the voip calls generally produce less than 90v and work well w/ Uniden phones.
