Moved + bat terminal, now dashboard dials don't work

I removed the positive post on my battery of my 2001 T&C to clean the corroded terminal. I DID NOT remove the negative terminal.

After hooking the battery terminal back up, the dashboard dials no longer work: SPeedometer, Tach, gas Gauge, Turn signals, etc.

Any suggestions short of simply checking the fuse (which I have yet to do).

Thanks

Jack

For safety purposes always always remove the negative side first. This eliminates the possibility of shorting out your wrench against the body or any other negative charged part. There is strong possibility of shorting out the battery which could blow up. This happened to my brother as a kid and he ended up with battery acid in his eyes.
Try unhooking the negative side of the battery as this may reset any relays.

How do i change the battery in a Peugeot 308

If you buy a new battery, most stores will help you replace it. you will need a ratchet set to remove the positive and negative ends of the terminal. you should remove the positive end first. and for the new one, add the negative end first.

Audi Q7 dies while driving

When motor will not turn over and you can hear the solenoid working and the battery is good check for dirty terminal at the positive lead.hey may look good but there will be a build up of lead sulphate ( Black crust) on the battery terminal and inside the lead terminal. Clean with sandpaper or file or proper post cleaner and try again . A simple check is to loosen the terminal and pressing down hard move the terminal back and forwards a few times to scratch the build up retighten and try starting

Battery cable kroded car want start how can i get it to start

well for starters if the cable is corroded you will need to measure the cable and replace the cable, autozone has many options for you with cable replacements.

If in fact you battery terminals are corroded and they can easily be replaced on hondas i believe you just have to cut the cable right next to terminal and replace them with new ones this is also very simple and cheap (2.49 ) per terminal at autozone.

all you do to replace them is cut the old one off the new ones you will just bolt a metal plate over the wire

If its the battery post just go buy a battery cleaning brush cheap to and clean the post and the terminals and you will be ok. May i also suggest that you put felt washers and battery terminal grease to prevent re corrosion of the above items.

also clean the post terminals and it should start you just don't have a good electrical contact

Hey if it helps how about a 4 thumbs up thanks

2001 Camry, When key is 1st turned nothing happens. Then turn again and car starts but have lost all presets in radio????????

Hi,

The way it's behaving, you've lost battery power completely. Same happened on my Toyota. The stock battery terminal clamps are thin and can corrode and crack. Sometimes just cycling the key can push through enough current to get it going again. so it's tough to diagnose.

Check and clean your battery terminals: Wear some rubber gloves and safety glasses. Remove the battery terminals - negative then positive - and neutralize any white corrosion with a paste of water and baking soda - scrub with an old toothbrush. Sand the battery terminals with and the inside of the cable clamps to clean more. Inspect the clamps for damage. You can get a new clamp (cheap) or a whole new battery cable (preferred) from a parts store.

Good luck!

if the blinkers are flashing like normal speed then most likely no. Try cleaning the battery. If still clicks you prabably have a bad starter.
