SOURCE: HP 15C calculator display showed

Hello,

When you get the error press any key to suppress the error message. Put the calculator into PROGRAM mode and you will see the line where the error occurred.

Here is what the manual says for ERROR 4 (free translation)

The line number called is not used or does not exist (larger than 448); attempt to load a program line (instruction) where there is not enough space; line label inexistant.

My hunch is that you are attempting to divide by 0: The quantity of which you are taking the reciprocal (inverse function has another meaning) may have a 0 value.

Do not forget to check the input values.

Hope that will help you debug your program

SOURCE: How do I do an inverse log function on my HP 33s

The inverse of the common log is the raise 10 to a power. the inverse of the natural log is the exponential. The log and the antilog share the same key, one is accessed directly the other as a seconf/shifted function. Same thing for the natural log (ln) and the exponential.

You can't charge the calculator off the solar power panel. The solar power panel merely conserves battery power when using the calculator in a bright environment. Try putting in a new battery and see whether the calculator turns on.

The inverse of a function usually shares the same physical key as the direct function.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the HP 10S calculator does not perform matrix calculations.

You have 9 variables A to F, M, X and Y. You can use them to store data, constants, calculation results, and other numerical values.

To store say the value 5674 in Variable A you press the key sequence 5 6 7 4 [SHIFT] [STO] A.

To recall the value stored in A (and use it in another calculation) you press [ALPHA] [A]. It will be displayed and you can do with it any calculation you want.

You can enter (store) data in Statistics modes

- Mode 2 is for standard deviation SD (1-variable statistics)
- Mode 3 is for Regressions.

Hi ik12364,

The Hp 10s doesn't have contrast control. You probably need to change the button cell battery LR44. This battery only last 3 years, if your lucky under normal use. No telling how long it sat in a warehouse or, on the shelf. If replacing the battery does not work then you may have a defective screen. HP should replace it, if you had it less than a year of purchase date. If you have any more questions about this calculator just post a comment about your inquiry and, I'll be glad to respond.

Hello,

I can't locate any information regarding an HP 8s Scientific Calculator, but I can locate information on a HP 9s Scientific Calculator. Perhaps they are similar in function. From the HP web site, please check out the link below.

I hope this helps!
