Question about Dryers

LG Steam Dryer DLEX5101V will not stay on in the Steam Settings

It will run for about 3 seconds and then shut off. Other than that the dryer works great at drying clothes. Steam Generator has been replaced and tap water is being used.

SOURCE: Dryer does not get hot enough to dry clothes Roper REX4634KQ1 Electric Dryer

Either the heater element is breaking or is loose and getting only 110V instead of 240V.  First I would check the wall outlet with a voltmeter for 240V between Line1 and Line2.  Also check the connections and continuity for the heater element.

SOURCE: Tumble Dryer not drying clothes

the problem could be several different things. first remove the front panel and see if the globar glows. if it doesn't check it for cracks and replace if needed. if it glows, replace your gas coils, they are usually the problem

SOURCE: LG DLG7188WM runs but no heat

I believe that it does. All of these parts should be functioning properly in order to dry the clothes well.

SOURCE: Dryer runs but there is no heat. Clothes spin but aren't drying. Any help is much appreciated!

On a gas dryer that will not heat, the first thing to check is the ignitor. The ignitor should heat up and glow orange if it is working. If not, the ignitor is defective. The next thing to check are the gas valve coils. These are electrical solenoids that are located just above the gas valves. When energized, they open the gas valves and allow the gas to flow to the burner and be ignited. If everything looks like it is operating well, but the dryer is still not heating/drying properly, the next thing that I would consider would be a faulty high limit thermostat. Sure hope this helped and best wishes.

LG DLEX2501V shows np error code after running only a few seconds. I have had this dryer for 3 years and it has worked great to this point.

NP should be a No Power code. Check if any wire is burnt past the plug (dryer side). Sometimes the wire burns out at the element. Don't poke around inside with the power on.

My lg 2240 clean filter light blinks even though the filter is clean. when started it runs for 3 to 4 seconds then shuts off. if you wait for about a minute it will start again then shut off after 3 to 4...

This problem usually is caused by a restricted or blocked vent. The filter itself can be clean, but the duct work in the dryer after the filter, or the vent hose attached to the dryer, or the exhaust door attached to that hose is either restricted, plugged or blocked. Lint likes to build up in all areas the exhaust air goes, so check them all. The dryer has a sensor that will shut the dryer off if there is a restriction. Cleaning all of the duct work, from the filter all the way to where it exhausts outside, will usually solve this problem. An easy way to check is to unhook the exhaust hose from the dryer and run it. Does it keep running now? It is possible the sensor in the dryer has gone bad, but that is rare. 99% of the time it is lint build up in the venting.

Dryer light stays on when door is shut nd wont run

check the door switch,i don't work on lg but on any other dryer if the wsitch is broke the dryer won't start and if the light is on the switch shuts off the light and dryer will start.if you send the model number i can look up the switch for the door and look around the frame where the door closes into, there should be a push button switch or a little paddle that the door hits, when you push in on the switch it should make a clicking sound or i've seen the paddle broke off.hope this helps or if you removed any wires to the door switch you might of wired it wrong

Have a DLEX5101V dryer... It won't stop spinning after the timer ends - as long as the door closed it keeps spinning.

if you can get access to your main control board be hind panel. unplug dryer then tap the control board a few times. you could have a stuck relay. plug back in and try it. may fix you problem short term.

Does the dryer comes with the cord?

Most dryers purchased typically come with a power cord, as far as I know. You usually just have to install it yourself, which is a very simple process, just need a Flathead/Phillips screwdriver typically.
