Every time insert a new memory card, I receive the message "card not initialized" I followed the instructions in the book regarding reasons I could be getting this message and it tells me to buy a new memory card if I have followed the directions - which I have. I have tried 3 new memory cards. Can anyone help. Thanks.

It wants you to format the card in the camera. This will erase it so if there are any pictures on it, download them first using a card reader if necessary. Then, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

I assume the message is not an error message and does not indicate an issue with the product. The message is designed to be an invitation to print photos from a memory card. Follow these steps to insert a memory card into the product.
Locate the memory card slot on the front of the product that is compatible with the memory card to be printed from. Each type of memory card slot accepts only one type of memory card, and only one memory card can be inserted at a time.
Insert the memory card into the appropriate memory card slot.
Some times you may be trying to print Some Data may be from Memory card , you Choose already-But actually your MMC not in/Not Properly in...Hope you find it.....Thanks for Contacting FixYa...
This totally sucks. I have a similar issue with my Canon Vixia HF R20 and I'm using a Lexar Pro 64Gb 133x SDXC card. When trying to initialize the card, its fails and says "Process terminated with error." It also says "check the memory card" when I first put it in. Write-protect is off. My other SanDisk class 4 SDHC card seems to work ok. I could have sworn it worked before and I was able to transfer videos to my Mac on 10.6, but I can't remember for sure if I was using the SDXC card or just the built-in memory. Very frustrating.
1. Go into the camera menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions.
2. With no card in the camera, format the internal memory.
3.Don't wait for a message...format the card in the camera (never in the computer).
have you tried formating the card and camera
to format the card insert itinto card reader and go to my computer right click on the drive then select format and follow the instructions this should solve the problem
also try reseting the unit at the same time by following the onscreen instructions in the set up mode
This error message indicates that there is no more space on the memory card in the camera.
To resolve this problem, do one of the following:
Turn off the camera and insert a new memory card.
Transfer or delete pictures from the memory card.
Change the storage location to use the internal memory.
