Check the setting of the recording software on your computer. How many seconds per frame it is doing.

Hi, i would like to know if recordings can be downloaded from the Coby CXR190-1G to the computer.

Yes, absolutely!

I'm guessing you don't have the CX-R190 software that's compatible with your OS version.
No problem.

I use a patch cable between the AUDIO IN on my PC and the EAR on the recorder.

Since the ouput of the recorder is monoaural, all you need is a mono (2 wire) lenght of cable with a standard 3.5mm plug at each end. I made one myself, but I guess Radio Shack may have something like this:

If they don't have it, then a STEREO cable (3 wires) will work just fine.

To record the sound you can use any audio recorder.
I use Audacity. It's a freebie and pretty straightforward to use.

After you've plugged it all in, all you need to do is start Audacity and then start to playback the files from your recorder.
When they are on your computer, you can copy, cut, paste, add special effects, and later convert them to MP3 or whatever.

Good luck.

When I connect my device to my laptop it just does not appear at all. It says that there is a problem with the software and I cannot find a way to fix it. I have try to plug it to three different laptops...

You don't mention the Operating System.

Now the question is: What do you want, good grammar or good taste?
It's an old cigarette commercial, but we can appliy it loosely to this situation.

Do you want to waste more time and keep trying to reinstall the software, or you just want to use your recorder and transfer the sound files to your PC or laptop?

I know a way around the issue.
Not very elegant? Pehaps.
Effective? Absolutely!

I am trying to download audio files from an Olympus digital voice recorder VN-3100PC to my HP computer that has Windows Vista. But I cannot get the files to show up and I think the driver is not installed...

Most likely the problem is " or something" .
I'm sure you know Windows Vista has issues with many things, even if the Recorder's software claims compatibility.
I know, that does not help at all, but there is a way around the issue.

Hi,

You can download the required manual by clicking this link:

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/ICDMX20.pdf

You'll require Adobe PDF Reader installed on your PC to view this manual. If it is not already installed on your PC, download it free from:

Rewinding to listen to recording

You should use the computer with Digital Voice Editor software to have more options when trabscribing. You could then use the transcribing keys to playback your recordings and regulate the velocity of the playback.
Download Digital Voice Editor Version 3.1.03 for Windows Vista/XP/2000.
64 bit version operating systems are not supported, though

CHECK

here is the link to the user manual; http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/WS100200Sman.pdf depending how important the previous recordings are, formatting the recorder (page 2) may be the best option - can you still access the files if the recorder is connected to a PC?, in which case save the files you want and try the format. If this doesn't help, please ask again :)
