I had the same problem, managed to fix it after a few tries by shutting off the printer, raising the scanner unit and pushing the ink cartridge unit all the way to the right and back to the left, when the printer was turned back on the error was gone and printing continued normally. Hope this will solve the problem with anyone else. racv2_2001@hotmail.com

How do I clear a paper Jam

Try either of the following methods to clear the paper jam. The operator panel displays the Ready message when the jam is cleared.Method A:
  1. Press Paper Rewind until the Paper Empty message appears.
  2. Press Paper Advance to re-load the paper into the printer.
The printer advances the paper, then cuts and discharges about 24 in. (61 cm) of blank paper. This reduces the possibility of fingerprints or other damage to the prints.
Method B:
  1. Turn off the printer and open the upper cover.
  2. Remove the ribbon from the printer.
Caution: Prevent damage to the printer. Do not pull abruptly on the paper.
  3. Slowly and carefully pull the jammed paper out of the printer.
  4. Cut off any damaged or printed areas of the paper. Do not damage or mark any of the rollers.
  5. Close the upper cover and turn on the printer.
  6. Press Paper Rewind to rewind the paper into the printer.
Note: If the Paper Jam message still appears on the operator panel, press Paper Rewind again.
  7. Open the upper cover and reload the ribbon.
  8. Close the cover.
  9. Reload the paper.
Note: If the Paper Jam message still displays on the operator panel, and you are at the end of a paper roll, it is possible that a segment of paper is too short to automatically exit the printer. Remove the front cleaning roller and remove the segment of paper.

As soon as I started using recycled ink cartridges, I started getting a paper jam error on my printer. The control panel message instructs me to remove the back panel and clear paper jam. I've done this several times but there is no paper to clear and the message keeps coming back. I've tried turning of the printer and unplugging it to clear the memory, but that doesn't help. Could it be that the chip on the ink cartridge is messing with the printer's operating system?

Paper jam in rear feeder and now have erroe code 5700

Steps to remove paper jam in Printers:
Step 1
Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.
Step 2
Turn off the printer.
Step 3
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Step 4
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
Step 5
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
Step 6
jQuery(document).ready(function(){ jQuery('#jsArticleStep6 span.image a:first').attr('href','http://i.ehow.com/images/ehows/steps/books/266_b1.jpg'); }); If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
Step 7
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.
Step 8
Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
Step 9
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Inspect the paper path once again.

Network Printer 12 paper jam

In order for a jam message to reset to READY, the printer logic is looking for an "06 COVER OPEN" message. The top cover of the machine must be opened to clear the jam message. If the top cover interlock switch is stuck closed, the printer logic never clears the jam message, even after all the paper has been removed. The printer appears hung with the paper jam message and can only be made READY by powering the printer Off and back On.

Paper jam message

Look for little pieces of paper that get stuck in the rollers, also verify that the gears and roller didn't get misaligned when you cleared the jam.
