Maybe it's 'cause of virus, or your OS maybe damaged, I suggest you: 1. Install a good anti-virus, update it and then scan your computer.
OR
2. Format your computer and reinstall your OS
OR
3. maybe some utility tools could help you

File and folder names are not visible in one drive of my pc

For Windows XP:

Open the problematic folder, Press and hold SHIFT key, right-click in empty area and select "View -> Thumbnails". It'll toggle the file/folder names.

Actually its a feature to show/hide file names while in Thumbnails mode.

For Windows Vista and 7:

Open the problematic folder, right-click in empty area and de-select "View -> Hide File names". If the option is not available, then press and hold SHIFT key, right-click in empty area and select "View -> Medium Icons".

Tip

Recreate the Show Desktop icon on the Quick Launch toolbar

To re-create the Show Desktop icon on the Quick Launch
toolbar, follow these steps....

1. Use any text editor (such as Notepad) to create a
file with the following lines:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
2. Save the new file as a file named Show Desktop.scf
in the WindowsSystem or WinntSystem32 folder. Note
that Notepad may automatically append a .txt extension
to the file name. Remove this extension if Notepad
adds it. These steps do not work if the file is named
Show Desktop.scf.txt.
3. Quit Notepad.
4. Using Windows Explorer or My Computer, right-click
the Show Desktop .scf file, and then click Create
Shortcut.
5. Copy the new shortcut to the appropriate folder. In
Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 98, copy the shortcut
to this folder: WindowsApplication DataMicrosoftInternet
ExplorerQuick Launch

In Microsoft Windows NT or Microsoft Windows 2000,
copy the shortcut to this folder: WinNTSystem32
In Microsoft Windows XP, copy the shortcut to the
following folder: WINDOWSSystem32ConfigSystemprofileApplication
DataMicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick Launch

6. Rename the shortcut to Desktop.
The Show Desktop icon automatically appears on the
Quick Launch toolbar.

Does not display preview of pictures in explorer in small, medium, large icons after update of vista

All you can do is to try to reinstall said update. If you can identify the specific update, try reinstalling it. If not, download and install the latest Vista service pack.

What browser are you using?
If you are using Firefox and windows vista than the file is downloaded to your downloads folder under your user folder.
In past versions, downloaded files were saved on your desktop and this is not the case anymore.

Look in your "downloads" folder, the icon will be there.

Step 2: Now, download VistaScreensaver zipped folder. In Windows Vista, there are four differentscreensaver styles: Aurora, Bubbles, Mystify and Ribbons.
