100 watt inverter with fm transmitter is connected to 12 volt batery being charged by solar . Batery test says 12.5 volts and fully charged.one clip on pos one on neg, leading to female lighter socket. The inverter comes with 12 volt lighter socket cable with replaceable 8 amp fuse. As soon as I plug it in it blows the fuse .When i plug it in the car cig lighter its fine . ps before i plug the inverter in the cable sais 12 .5 volts This is a x power 100 watt inverter with fm transmiter

Ohm's Law says watts / volts = amps, so 1000/12 is 83+change -- damn! I hope you have a big, phat alternator! So fuses have to be rated somewhat higher than device load, you need a 90 amp or 100 amp fuse -- what style I couldn't even begin to guess, normal automotive fuses don't go that high.
If this is a new install, make sure your power wires are heavy enough to handle the load. A fuse's job is to blow before the wiring catches fire. The longer the wire is, the thicker it must be. Electrical fire is a catastrophe so make sure your wiring is adequate -- I know it's hard to believe but the power wire is actually more important than the speaker wire!
Here are some simple things that you can check and look for.
Check the voltage at the amplifier power input terminals. You should have 12 to 14 volts there with the vehicle running and the radio turned on. Check the voltage between the positive terminal and the chassis ground. It should be 12 to 14 volts as well. Check for a fuse at the POSITIVE batery terminal on the line feeding your amp. There should be a large amperage fuse there. Make sure that it is not blown. Check that the vehicle ground wire (from the chassis to the battery NEGATIVE terminal) is corrosion free at both ends and is connected tightly.
Also check that there is no corrosion or loose connections on these high power cables. At 2500 watts output from your amplifier, you should probably have #4 or #000 wire runing to the amplifier. These cables (one for the positive line and one for the negative) should run directly from the battery to the amplifier.
a car amplifier should use an outdoor 2or so gague (very thick_) wire, ran, not to the fusebox, but to the battery, with a 20-30 amp under the hood, within a foot of the battery. the amperage your fuse will rewquire is based on the formula amps= wattsdivided by volts. a 240 watt amp on a 12 volt line would need a 20 amp fuse, just for the amp alone.
Watts to volts doesn't translate as they are different units to measure things. Watts is a power measurement while volts is what is trickling through the cable. You could have 12 volts at 6000 watts or 240 volts and 5 watts, depends on usage. If it's for a car audio amp, it will be generally 12 volts to power it which at 1200 watts means it will run at around 100 amps current according to ohmslawcalculator.com
the wire from your battery is blowing fuses? and you are using 20-30 A fuses? mine has a 100A fuse..look into getting new wire plus my wire is 4 gauge.., 1600 watts is too powerful for a 12 g wire and a 30 A fuse
I would get a volt/ohm/continuity meter to test the connections. You have a short somewhere. You can take it Car Auto or Tweeter and they can check it for you. Some of these places charge a $35.00 diagnostic fee. If you have a schematic diagram, you can test where the short might be.
depends what wireing kit you are useing.if you are useing say a 300watt kit then the fuse in the main power lead is normally a 25amp fuse,and this should be installed a maximum of 12 to 18 inches from the batery. hope this helps.
