I am attempting to uninstall old Scansnap software from the Control Panel the following message appears. "The same version as this product is installed. When you install this product, please perform, once uninstalling".
When I attempt to load the software for a new Scansnap S510 it attempts to uninstall the older software and gets the same message.

Re: problem installing Scansnap S510
This is probably due to the program using the same folder for the new version of the program. Best solution would be to uninstall the new version, uninstall the old version and then reinstall the newset version only. Running a registry cleaner in between does not harm.

Go to your control panel from start menu if using any OS other than Windows8. (W8 control panel=settings). At control panel menu, locate "change or uninstall program". Click on this selection and all of your installed programs will appear. Scroll own until "American Greetings Createacard" (or close variation) appears and highlight and click this selection. Now an uninstall option appears either on the same highlighted line or at top. Click uninstall and follow prompts if any appear; clicking "ok" or "yes" if they do. Once this program has uninstalled, you can download it again from the original source and it should operate now as intended.
I also had this issue. I was running an older version of Scansnap Manager.
I installed the latest update Version 2.2 (January 2011) and it works fine now.
Here is the link to the Upgrades.
Hope this helps
OK; after giving up on lousy tech support I got it working after doing the following (not sure if all required, but this is what I did)
1. Gave admin rights to C:\Program Files (x86)\PFU
2. Updated to latest ScanSnap Manager V5.0 L21
3, Copied C:\Users\<admin acct>\AppData\Roaming\PFU directory to C:\Users\All Users
There should not be any problem installing that sofware on that OS and version. My guess is you have a botched (corrupted) install. Try uninstalling if you can otherwise let me know and we'll "clean out the registry." Good luck!
