Question about GE JVM1631 Microwave Oven
I have a GE Microwave oven model # JES1288SH02 and there is nothing to tell me how to change the light bulb please help me because i am not going to pay $65 for a service call for a $4 or $8 bulb thanks .
The light bulb assembly (bulb and socket are all one piece) is part number WB36X951.
It is located on the air duct assembly where the door switches are mounted.
You can see an exploded view diagram here.
You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb assembly.
Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.
See these links before proceeding:
The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.
Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.
If you're not able to find the bulb assembly at your local appliance parts store, you can order one here.
