Download the driver from the last link (Softpedia) and unzip it. I
think if you don't use the setup.exe and try to install the driver thru
the device manager, and point the hardware wizard to the CAT folder, or
set the wizard to automatically search thru all the folders, it might
work. There's also a folder called EXE that has an application called
"ScanDrv.exe" and maybe that will be of use.
BTW- the last link says it's for the 500BL, not the 5000BL but it's a
typo. I also downloaded the same thing directly from BenQ and the
folders were identical. It also says Vista in the specs, but further
down it lists Win98/ME/2000/XP so it should be OK.
1. Attach the accompanying cable to the back of your scanner and the other end to the LPT1 port on the back of your computer. 2. Restart your PC. 3. Open your "Start" menu and click on the "Control Panel." Open the "Device Manager." 4.Double click on the "Unknown Hardware" entry and select the "Install Driver" button. 5.Insert the scanner software CD into the computer and select the drive letter of your CD-ROM as the location to search for the scanner driver.
You can download the driver software by using the Hardware ID of the device. You can locate the hardware id of the device by right clicking on the device in the device manager. Right click, properties, select details, select hardware id in the drop down list. You can get the hardware id of the device.
You can still download the driver from the Canon Official website, but since you didn't mention the Operating System where you gonna install this printer, I can't make this specific and am unable to give you the direct link.
Open this link (Click Here), select Operating System (O.S), then select Language and click "Submit" all the available downloadable drivers/softwares for that particular operating system will be displayed on the next page. Click the respective links to download.
I looked it up and it says there is not a driver for this scanner that is compatible with Vista or Windiws 7 but I have heard good things about this driver and from what I was told it works for your scanner. Here is the link: Good Luck! http://www.hamrick.com/
If you plug the scanner in, Windows 7 should just automatically detect the scanner and install the correct driver for it. Try doing a windows update, if it locates a newer driver, if not, then BenQ may not have created a Vista / 7 compatible driver.
The software for your scanner is located at the following website. Create a folder in your C drive, label it Canon Scanner FB330P and download the software to that folder. Then install the software from that folder
