SOURCE: F4 error code on Jenn-Air W30400BC expressions built in oven

Slone, F4 is the code for a shorted temperature sensor. This is the temp probe in the oven. There are 2-quarter inch screws holding it on. It should pull out through the insulation until the quick connect comes through. If you want to make sure, the sensor should ohm out at 1143 ohms at 100 degrees. I think you can be pretty sure that this is the problem. The part number I have is 704657. Catriver.

SOURCE: Jenn-air JES9800 error code F1-7

As indicated by others, the best solution for most people is to replace the touch pad assembly.
I went the cheap - time consuming route.
Jenn Air JES9800
Using the information from this forum and others I decided that the F1-7 error message was due to the touch pad. When I saw the price of the assembly which includes the touch pad I decided to take a look inside. With the power off :-) I disconnected the touch pad ribbon connector from the socket. Using a tool fabricated from a broken hacksaw blade hot bent 90 degrees about 4mm from the end, re-hardened and sharpened to form a knive edge, I carefully loosened the touch pad around the perimeter. The touch pad is applied to the frame with a flexible adhesive, so I was able to pull it off slowly without permanent deformation.
I softened the adhesive with odorless mineral spirits and was able to remove the adhesive from the touch pad with paper towels. upon examination of the touch pad I noticed several breaks in the the printed traces. I carefully pulled away the laminate near the breaks, which were near the flexible ribbon connector from the touch pad. I used a the copper powder paint from a Permatex rear window defogger repair kit to (tediously) paint traces to complete the gaps in the printed traces. The outer trace, which runs around the periphery of the pad kept showing a very high resistance (> 5 megohms) until I scraped away a short light colored section of the printed trace and replaced that with the repair paint. The trace then showed a resistance of just under 1meg. I temporarily re-attached the touch pad with tape and the error code did not reappear. I set the clock and successfully tested several buttons.
Next step - seal the area around the trace repairs so I can get some more years out of the stove, until the next repair.
The cause of this is an obvious design flaw. The printed traces were all compromised in the area where there is no discernable protection over the traces, allowing moisture (I assume) to react with the conductive material in the traces.

F1 error code and constant beeping and oven shuts off.

Hi gwhiz03,

If you are having error code F1 with your Jenn-Air double wall oven this is because you have a defective touch pad or clock (ERC). This simple test will help determine whether the ERC (Electronic Range Control or Clock) or the touch pad is defective when F1 error code is present.

Note: Some models incorporate the touch pad in to the ERC as a single assembly, in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Warning: If you feel in any way uncomfortable performing this test or making this repair, please contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

1. Disconnect power to the range (unplug the range power cord or turn the power off to the range at the circuit breaker). It is very important that the power to the range has been disconnected, so please double check before continuing.
2. Gain access inside the control panel.
3. Disconnect the touch pad (also called keypad or membrane switch) ribbon from the ERC.
4. Make sure there are no lose wires, or anything else that may cause a short when power is turned back on. Assemble the control panel back the way it was.
5. Turn the power back on.
6. Wait for at least one hour to see if the F1 code comes back (usually accompanied by a beeping sound).
7. If F1 comes back, replace the ERC. If it does not, replace the touch pad.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Error code F1

I had the same problem and found this post:
http://fixitnow.com/wp/2006/03/11/maytag-amana-jenn-air-and-magic-chef-range-f1-codes/

The oven had been cleaned earlier in the day and the touch pad ribbon connector was shorting. I cleaned it with rubbing alchohol and blow dried the whole board for good measure. Hooked everything back up and haven't had a problem since.

Jenn Air W131 F1 error code

This means that the Power to element relay energized during time of day display. You have a problem with the wiring harness and it is shorted or you need to change the power relay board (PRB). If it is a double oven, you need to change second oven board.
