Web cam does not work after a company put windows xp on when it came with windows vista the web cam program is Quick Play

Hello visit your pc`s homepage, to download the webcam driver.

The quick play software should also be available there.

ALL drivers are lost when a new install is made, and the vista driver does not work with windows xp.

Good luck

I cant find out how to use my webcam

If your Samsung NP-NC10 netbook is still using Windows XP, then Samsung provide a software application called Play Camera which you can download from the Samsung Support web site and use to view your web cam.

You can also use any Instant Messenger program that allows for sharing video chat using a web cam, such as Yahoo Messenger or Windows Live Messenger.

You can also use other third-party programs such as YawCam which is free to use and allows you to use and share your web cam.

Try downloading the latest WEBcam driver.
Download the drivers from the Acer WEB site. Make sure youselect the model of your laptop and the XP or Vista version of the drivers youthat require and it matches the Windows version that is installed on yourlaptop. Use this link to get to the Acer support: -

Currently install home vista then my webcam not working. how to solve this problem

I have encountered many problems when wanting an older program or game work to work on a new O.S. (Operating System). For example, when I was younger I wanted to play DOOM on my Windows XP but it would not let me, so I tampered around in the settings and properties of the game and I just so happened to find this option and use it. It is very good to know and remember that Compatibility Mode works on all programs. The good news is, we can use this on your web cam.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:
Mouse
Windows 95-Vista

Step 1Right-Click the Icon to the program you want to install or run.

Step 2Go to Properties

Step 3In Properties, click the Compatibility Tab.

Step 4You will see a section called Compatibility Mode. There, check the box with "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" beside it and click the version of windows the program requires (e.g. Windows 95,98,2000,Xp).

I hope this helped!

No educational progams on pc

I have both Linux and Windows XP versions of the EeePCs. And the Linux version comes with some educational software. While the Windows XP version does not.

The vast majority of no webcam is because it is toggled off in the BIOS.

Enabling the EeePC Camera through the BIOS
Go into the BIOS Setup (press F2 when the screen lites up).
Right arrow key to Advanced
Down Arrow key to Onboard Devices Configuration
Enter
Arrow key down to Onboard Camera
Enter
Arrow key to Enable
Enter key
F10
Enter

Hopefully that takes care of it. :)

Web cam

Hi selamat_8832,

I think that the most likely problem here is the driver/software of the webcam, which is the acer crystal eye webcam. You should just uninstall the software from Add/Remove Program (Windows XP) or Programs and Features (Windows Vista).

Then afterwards, reinstall the software/drivers using the disc that came with your Acer laptop, it should contain the all the drivers for the laptop including the webcam. Just pick the correct driver to install. Now if you don't have the CD or is missing you can goto this link: http://www.acerpanam.com/flex/acer/bin/acer.html#app=2766&9e7c-selectedIndex=0&3386-selectedIndex=2&bca4-selectedIndex=1&bf37-selectedIndex=1&4f90-selectedIndex=1

When you open the page by default it should show the Drivers tab. Under the tab there are items you can choose from: Select Product Type, Select Product and Select Download. You first need to click on the "Select a Product Type" choose there Notebook. Then it will goto the next item which is "Select Product" choose there the model of your laptop which is an Aspire 4530. Then it will automatically goto the "Select Download" and it will show all the possible drivers you can download including the webcam drivers (acer crystal eye webcam) and they are labeled either for Windows XP or Windows Vista. So pick the one you need.

Hope this helps!

Peace! :)

Your computer came with a restore cd I am sure, so you can get vista back later if you need.

Here is a tutorial made just for you. You will need to own an XP CD. pre-installed-windows-vista-computer/">http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/install-windows-xp-on-your-pre-installed-windows-vista-computer/

You can buy laptop coolers almost anywhere for $20 to $30. They will get hot. I try to keep my laptop on a flat open surface to allow maximum air flow. Setting it on you lap insulates it and it gets warm. Nothing out of the ordinary.

You may be able to download an updated driver from HP that will fix your web cam problem. There may also be another program running that is trying to manage the web cam also. Take a look at your running programs and close any that are related to the web cam and see if you error still occurs.
