My 17 year old Wilson Jones 1153 Model shredder can't be left plugged in-It drains the electrical circuits and turns our heater off. Other than that,it works great. Is this worth repairing-Suggestions?

Just take it apart and unplug the switch that is keeping it on. take pictures when you pull apart the cases. sometimes some of the screws are under labels. Should be no more than five screws. Paper has an oily presence and causes these type of failures.

Shredder is Wilson Jones 130 auto. I believe staff shredded to many sheets at one time. No no lights no power forwards or backwards. Is there a reset or fuse, can't find one

Oddly, my Wilson Jones 130 auto just did exactly the same thing. I'm the only one that uses it (that I know of) and one day it worked, the next it didn't. There is no paper stuck in it. There are no power lights, nothing works. Does anyone know the location of a reset button or something?

I would like to know how to oil an Wilson-Jones 1250 schredder.

Wow, a name from the past.... with any shredder the easiest way to "oil it" is just to put a bead of oil in an "S" pattern down a sheet of paper to be shredded and then shred the sheet of paper.
If you shred a lot you should do this more frequently...if its only occassional shredding OR if its a strip cut shredder then you don't have to do this as often.

Shredder says service due. cannot clear display

Clearing the "Service Due" prompt:
1. Lift safety flap (plastic cover over paper entrance).
2. Depress Reverse and Stop button simultaneously 2-4 seconds.
3. LCD display reads, "Service Info 1"
4. Press Stop button once to obtain "Service Info 2"
5. Depress Forward and Reverse buttons simult. 2-4 seconds.
6. "Service Due" prompt will be cleared and service hours zero.
7. Snap safety flap down to close.
