Can you fuse the belt back together on a bissel shamppoer power steamer

Jolene,
I have done some fusing of belts in the past and did not have real good success in doing so. I would recommend finding a replacement belt and put it on.

Dc 42 not sucking

Dyson Upright Animal Model DC 42 lost power head rotation. Took apart floor plate and also switch assembly. The switch assembly has two springs of which one fell out before we could determine how to put together. Does any one have an image of the spring locations in the switch assembly?

The biggest prob with Bissel is not pumping soap. Becuase if you don't run hot water through this tank the soap will dry and clog after cleaning and storing. Before taking it apart try running hot water through the solution tank and help break up the residue, best of luck. Steve

Reset button or Fuse on my Infinity?

Ok, I took it apart, cleared the clog out, and put it back together. It wouldn't switch to "carpet". Got no answer on my question. Took it apart again, only I went further. Took apart the bottom - brush out, all inside bottom parts out, cleaned all that part of vac. No clogs down there. Ran the carpet/bare floor switch back and forth several times while I had it apart. Put it all back together and it worked fine. Still didn't find a fuse or reset button...

Bissel proheat is not sucking up water

There is a oblong black seal that sits where the tank lip and the clear noozle window come together, is it there. Also make sure the filter in the tank lid is clean.

Doesn't emit water in either tools or floor mode.

The mixer valve is most likely gummed up with old soap and stuck you will need to take the bottom of the machine apart to get at it. The problem with that is while it is easy to get apart it can be very difficult to get back together properly even for someone that does the job all the time. The only trick I can give you is to put a phone book under the base of the unit this will keep the wheels up and the base level to aid in reassembly. If you do get it apart remove the mixer valve which is directly under the grey mixer knob and rinse it in your sink very well. In the future take the time to empty the unused soap back into the bottle and fill the solution tank with water and rinse out the system before putting it away. HOOVER STEAM CLEANER PROBLEM

The soap dispenser is supposed to be attched to the water tank. That grey piece, if it is round with 2 small ears on it is the metering plate, it controls the flow of water. It sits on the table that the tank sits on, insert it into the hole and turn to lock it in place.

Follow the plastic extension that runs from the trigger through the length of the handle. This requires more disassembly that at just the trigger. At the end of the plastic extension you will find a triangular-shaped "ramp" that pushes against a "button" plunger that opens the valve that releases solution. When you release the trigger, the triangular ramp retreats and the plunger is supposed to be pushed back out by an internal spring in the valve. This plunger sticks because of accumulated soap from evaporated solution. Try cleaning that valve and plunger by running clean, hot water through the system OR replace the valve. In the future ALWAYS thoroughly flush the system with hot, clean water after using the machine.
