Question about GE (PSS26MSRSS) Side by Side Refrigerator
When dispensing ice the cubes do not "open" the door. The door can be opened manually from in or outside the door. Should the weight od the cubes open the door? How does the dispenser come off of the door from the outside?
Sounds like the dispenser door solenoid has either rusted up or failed altogether. rusted up solenoid plunger is very common on the ge sxs. you can access it by grasping the disp control and pulling up and out at the same time (it will be kind of hard to do but it will come off). once you have the control cover off you will see another peice held on with 4 philips head screws remove the screws and pull that part out then on the right hand side you'll see and black solenoid hooked to the door of your dispencer that's wht needs to be replaced. thanks peyton
