Hello, does the battery charge when you plug into the wall ? If it doesn't then your AC cable has a problem and I suggest that before we conclude on that solution you try plugging into another wall to see if it works first. But if the response is still the same then your AC cable has a problem and you should change it as soon as possible.I hope this solution is helpful.Have a wonderful day.
Try replacing the fan in it the reason a computer usally goes of is due to this. In the bios sometimes the fan gives a fail safe causing the laptop to go off. Couple of questions though did the laptop heat up alot in the past. If it did you might try buying another laptop mother board. If not this is a less costly adventure than replacing the motherboard.

notebook mainboards are very expensive! mine was nearly 400.00 bucks,unless you buy used, i did the first time-the onboard sound was broke. so i should have replaced the whole thing. the cost of new notebooks have fallen alot lower. you may consider this. good luck!
Can you still see a faint image if you look at the screen closely? If so, you just don't have backlight and you should check your inverter. he part is

If the laptop still works, then there would be no need to replace the motherboard. The DC jack is replaceable/repairable. What would be more challenging is the disassembly and eventual exposing of the bottom part of the circuitry where the DC jack is soldered into. Often the DC jack would have at least 2 solder point (not more than 3). This might interest you.
