Hi, I have a sony vaio vgn-fw265d and the last time I used it I put it to sleep but didn't connect it to any power source so the battery drained out. When I tried turning it back on, the light switched on...

Remove the battery and try to start it up with the AC power. If it's not working, after you try to boot up and the lights are on, press the power button for several seconds (10-15) and it should go off. Press the power button again and it should start.

Sony vaio vgn-fj270 bios wont boot, just display [Be-$]Be-$

try to turn off the laptop. Remove cables and battery then press and hold the power button for 8 secs. Then reinsert the cables and battery on the laptop. Turn on the laptop. Check if the BIOS screen appears. If it is still wont boot to windows, try to restart the pc and repeatedly press F8 to Boot to safe mode. If unsuccessful, this might be a problem with the memory of your laptop. If you cannot tear down the laptop, consult a technician to tear it down and reseat the memory .. or better call your manufacturer to repair it...

Sony Vaio wont boot

Hm, maybe your bios battery is dead. Try to buy a new one, and boot than boot it. A bios battery is usually under the keyboard.

Sony Vaio VGN-N250E/W Not Booting/Responding

Take the battery and power supply out and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. This will reset your hardware settings. Your backup battery isnt your problem. Does your battery light turn on when charging? Does your keyboard lights light up when it runs for a second (try pressing caps lock)?

Sony VAIO VGN-FJ3M/W does not boot.

Possible hard disk failure or hard disk controller failure.
if you feel confident remove the hard disk and replace - obviosuly make sure that there is not power running and remove the battery - replace hard disk then battery then power and try again.

Do you get any beeps? is the hard disk clicking? listen carefully to it and post your findings.
