good day i also use a compaq laptop and i think you laptop is very fine just be frank you have so mch game in your laptop and am sure thats it.want does game increase your ram to maybe 4gb.

I would take a system restore point BEFORE you upgrade and make sure you back up everything BEFORE you attempt an install/upgrade.

you have to reinstall the device drivers please check in your resorces cd which came with your laptop or please check there web sie to down load the drivers and install it and every thing will be fine

i'm having the same problem i even got the restore disks from hp (presario v2000) xp sp 2 anyhow it keeps not finding the sound card i have been searching all over and even took the laptop apart to see if i could find the chipset name on the board. not having any luck with this.

try to find a folder 'SWUpdates' in your C: drive.

• Generally HP stores all the system related drivers in this folder.
• Also check out which USB device you are using, is it shipped with any setup CD, if yes then try to install this first.
