I have the same problem.  I have a Kitchen Aid Dishwasher and I have tried all the detergents and different water.  It used to work fine but has gotten progressively worse.  What can I do?

It is probably hard water residue and not soap. There is a new product out called The Dishwasher Filtration System. It filters the water going into your dishwasher leaving your dishes spot free with every load. It is very affordable and fits right under the sink. You will be amazed how sparkling your dishes look just after one load. You will love this product. Get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher started making scary baby cry sounds. then a few months later the clean dishes would have a white film over them like dried detergent didn't rinse.

Hello Cindy;

My name is peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

You need to provide a model number so I can see what you have. The model number is on a tag on the front face of your dishwasher after you open the dishwasher door.

You may want to remove the bottom front panel on your dishwasher, run the dishwasher and observe. There are two clip pins on the top of the bottom panel. Push in with a putty knife or something similar. Pull on the top of the panel on both sides, then lift the panel up.

Dishwasher control light blinking

1 Press down the overfill protection float on the floor of the dishwasher's tub in the right, front corner near the door. If it cannot move up and down freely, the "clean" light will flash.
2 Make sure the dishwasher's water supply is turned on.
3 Look for suds on the inside of the dishwasher and wipe them off with a wet cloth. If the washer's sensor detects suds or foam, it may not run. Use the correct amount of dishwasher soap, not hand soap or detergent for washing dishes in the sink, to ensure suds and foam do not form. Also, make sure the cap on the rinse aid dispenser is secure--this will keep suds and foam from forming as well.
4 Close the dishwasher door. Push the "normal wash" button, then push the "heated dry" button. Push the "normal wash" button again, and push the "heated dry" button again.
5 Watch for all of the lights on your Kenmore dishwasher's panel to turn on and then turn off. The washer may start a new wash cycle at this point; if you do not want it to do so, press the "cancel" button. Otherwise, allow the dishwasher to run through this cycle.

The dishwasher doesnot dry anything.

  • Check the rinse aid indicator beside the rinse aid dispenser cap. If the indicator window is clear, refill the dispenser. The dishwasher will retain moisture and the heat dry option will not perform properly without rinse aid. Turn the dispenser cap clockwise and lift it up to remove it. Pour rinse aid into the dispenser until the indicator appears full. Place the dispenser cap over the dispenser and turn it counterclockwise to tighten it.

  • Load the dishes properly so that all dishes can drain after the rinse cycle. Do not overload the dishwasher. Towel-dry plastic dishes because they will not dry completely during the dry cycle.

  • Select the heated dry option on the dishwasher. The air-dry and energy-saving dry options will not perform as well as the heated dry.

Manual for hotpoint how to work it

  • Load the appliance with dirty dishes, placing soiled pots and pans on the lower rack where they will be subjected to the most vigorous cleaning. Glassware and dishwasher-safe plastics should go on the top rack. It is not necessary to rinse dishes before loading them in the Hotpoint appliance, unless the dishes have been sitting for awhile and the food particles have dried.

  • Fill the detergent compartment with your preferred brand of dishwashing detergent, and add glass rinse solution to the rinse reservoir on the inside of the door if your model is equipped with one, then close the door to lock in place.

  • Select the cycle you wish to use and press the button. For pots and pans, use the heavy-duty cycle. Normal wash is fine for dishes and utensils.

  • Save on your energy bill by running the dishwasher only when it is full and by allowing the dishes to air dry instead of using the heat dry function on the appliance.

My Asko D1976 dishwasher is not cleaning dishes properly. There is a lot of clumped detergent left in the dispenser after wash cycles are complete, and many of the dishes have dried-on food left on them. ...

First of all, don't pre-rinse the dishes. Check the water temperature, it should be between 120 and 140 degrees. Be sure you are not partially blocking the dispenser door so that it isn't opening.

The dishes are still wet after "drying" overnight?

    Hi,

With the energy efficient dishwashers today it is very important to use rinse aid for proper drying. The rinse aid will help sheet the water off of the dishes prior to the dry cycle. If you do not use rinse aid you can expect poor dry performance.

Next to the detergent cup in the door is the rinse aid dispenser, be sure it is full. You only need to fill it about once a month. There is also a product called "Turbo Dry" that you can use in the rinse aid dispenser, it helps dry even plastics very well.

Next be sure you have selected heated dry on your options.

Sani Rinse will also help as it heats the water before the dry cycle.

Let me know if you have questions.

I put washing up liquid in mu cda dishwasher now it wont do anything it wont rinse

If the machine cavity is full of suds, use a 'wet-or-dry' vacuum to remove all of the suds possible, then run a washing cycle without dishes or detergent to flush the machine. With luck, the machine will be back to normal.

My dishwasher does not always dry the dishes completely - even though I use the same cascade with each use.

The most important thing to getting the best drying from this energy efficient, water conserving dishwasher is keeping the rinse aid dispenser filled. In my part of the US, I only see a rinse aid called Jet Dry.

The Cascade is the detergent powder and will not help the dishes to get dry.

Note: Even with the rinse aid full, some plastics will still be wet.
