You need to replace the grills Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can purchase one at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. They run about $30.00. Take your old one with you for comparison purposes.
To avoid this happening in the future. Whenever, you turn the tank valve OFF and it comes time to turn it back ON, turn it ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Doing it that way, won't lockup or blow the gas line regulator. It wasn't your fault, John (unless you didn't read the Owner's Manual). The new OPD tank valves, will shoot to high a pressure sometimes and either lockup the regulator or cause a small leak, like it did with yours. That's where the frost was coming from.
Hope this helped you. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!
to solve this problem, turn
the tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5
minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve on VERY,
VERY SLOWLY (slow motion, slow). Once the tank valve is fully open,
light the burner farthest from the tank and turn it to it's highest
setting. Does the flame height now appear to be normal. If so, light the
remaining burner(s) the same way. If everything has returned to normal,
you've solved the problem. If it hasn't, then more thank likely your
Propane Tank is empty or the regulator/hose assembly may need replacing. If so, you can purchase one at any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories. Juts tank your old one with you for comparison purposes.
I have the same problem with my Charglo fireplace. The propane company checked preasure and they even replaced the regulator. I am very disappointed with this and am afraid to use it. I have contacted Charmglo in the past and they were useless.
