You can share Media by setting up a Home network.

  • sai Jan 12, 2013

No... I dont want it with home network. I want to stream with an IP on my router. I have used IP webcam software which is only for androids and Iphones. It streams the videos and camera through my router and I can watch them through all the devices connected to my router. I want such kind of software in my laptop

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: belkin router frequent internet connection loss

hello,

...first of all :
latest firmware version is -all i know- version 3.01.29 so my question is : where did you get / found firmware version 3.01.30 ? can you give me a link ?
...then :
after installing the new firmware causing this problem after installation you should save your settings to take care. then you should first use internal 'new start / restart-funktion' of your router.
try this, if it helps.
when it should not help, then save settings as well and make hard-reset on your router. for this you press the reset-button at the back of your router - long enough, watch the blinking symbols on front.

after them you should ONLY MANUALLY configure the router for internet access, DO NOT USE the installation disc ! for manual configuration you should connect the router and your computer by cable, using ethernet-port #1 at the router.
then open your browser, enter 192.168.2.1 at address bar, no http or anything before or after, only this number... then the web-interface will be opened and on the left you find the navigation-menu.
enter menu 'internet wan' -> for usual highspeed / broadband- access you will get access-codes from your isp (internet service provider), then the connection type is pppoe...

this is most usual procedure...

try this and give feedback... :)

sincerely nayss

you need to set port forwarding see below.

Once you open the set up interface of the router, you will be able to find the settings on the router where you can open the ports for the particular program.
If you are opening the ports for a special device in your network, then you must know the IP address of that device.
For example, wireless camera, DVR, X-box, Play station ...
You can choose the option PORT FORWARDING for a special device application.
If you just want to open the ports for all the network, then you can choose PORT TRIGGERING

For Linksys Router.

You have opened the set up interface of the router. You will see Application and Gaming TAB at the top.
If you click on that tab you will find different Sub tabs.
Click on Port Triggering => Here you can open the port numbers for the network.
Click On Port forwarding if you want to open the ports for a special device in the network.
Click Save settings once you open the ports on the router.

For D-link router

You have opened the set up interface of the router.
You will see Network settings in the left hand side panel of the page.
Click on Network settings and go to the Advanced TAB at the top.
Now you will find the option. Pot Forwarding in the left hand panel.
Here you can open the ports on the router.

BELKIN wireless router

Select TCP, UDP, or BOTH for the Type.Private IP address: Enter the IP address of the computer you want grant access too. Type the port(s) specified by the program manufacture for both of the Private port fields.Click the Apply Changes button.

NETGEAR Router.

You have opened the set up interface of the router.
Click on Port Triggering under Advanced menu.
Change the value of Port Triggering Timeout as 20 Click on Add Service. Specify a Unique/User Defined name under Service Name. Ex: Mails, VPN. Specify the Service User as Any (if all the computers in the network are port triggered or if a single computer on a network is port triggered specify the IP address of the computer). Select the Service Type of the port to be triggered
Ex: TCP . Specify the Trigger Port (The port to be triggered). Select the Connection Type of Inbound Connection. Specify the Starting and Ending Port for Inbound Connection. Click Apply to accept changes. Your router is now set up for port triggering..

How can i make it so that I can wacth movies on netflix it does not streamline it has to constanly buffer the movies

Streaming video , stopping and buffering is due to slow connection speed. HD movies involve loading a lot of data and hence take a lot of time to buffer. Switch to non-HD video mode and see if it streams without pauses. If that does not fully resolve the problem , you will need to go for a faster internet connection.

Hello,
This might not actually be an issue. The 5ghz band is not available on a lot of devices. Unless your device says it supports 5ghz, you will not see it. All cell phones I know of, blackberry's, iphones, etc... use wireless G, or N 2.4ghz. New devices like HD streaming video players, media extenders, 2010-2011 MAC's and some new PC laptops support the 5ghz band. Your configuration screen shot looks fine. Verify that your devices support 5ghz.
My MAC book PRo 2011 supports 5ghz and so does my Asus Laptop. These two devices connect to the 5ghz and all my other devices, including my blackberry, connect to 2.4ghz.

Unable to stream novie sites with my linksys wireless-g router

Check the connection (signal) strength of your wireless connection in the status area of the task bar in Windows. Also, hovering the mouse over the wireless connection should reveal the connection speed. 54mbps is the highest you can expect on a wireless connection, which is generally OK for streaming video..Any less of a signal strength/connect speed will likely not be adequate for streaming video.

A poor signal strength is usually because of too much distance or too many walls between the router and the computer.

Hope that's helpful.

I have had problems with streaming video during

Doing my best to give you a correct solution and understanding
Issue : delays in streaming video
Environment :
ISP : Bellsouth
Router : wireless WRT150N
Solution :
"Downside to streaming"
Traffic jams.
Internet isn't a direct pipeline from the source to you. Streamed content passes through many other computers on its way to your computer via your ISP. If any one of them is carrying too much other traffic, the streamed content may be interrupted and pause. Streamed content is "buffered" to help avoid this, but sometimes it's unavoidable.
(test the downstream and upstream speed and alose test the download )
(Checked deleting the temporary files and folders)
(Checked firewall and Anti virus)
A slow computer :
if you have too many applications open, it could slow down your media streaming. If you notice things are sluggish, close all unnecessary applications and windows running on your computer. Just keep your Web browser and your media player open.
Noisy phone lines.
phone line that isn't free of noise (humming, crackling), that's not good for streaming (or Web browsing). Disconnect any phones that cause a buzz or hum.

How do you set an N router to perform with a G notebook.

An N router supports b & g as well, but may not be so very effective with the "g" signal. You might try to put a higher gain antenna on the router's wireless, and aiming it towards your laptop.

I had the problem that, even though the hdd connected it would fail after a period of time (video streaming or file transfers). Set up was Samsung Q45 running wireless g connected to a belkin draft N Router. 3 other PCs (all g) using 2 different OS (Vista and Mac) had same problem.

Solution after months of searching, problem solved. Fitted Draft n PCMCIA card, and to ensure it was running at 300Mb had to use WPA PSK + WPA2 PSK security mode . Now works brilliantly and has managed to stream a full HD movie!! The Wireless link is now running faster 10Mbs compared with 4Mbs on g, although not fast it at least enables the HHD to be used in a stable configuration. Problem seems to be that the unit will not work properly unless wireless n link is used.

WIRELESS ROUTER

If you mean by the roadrunner that you are connect via a cable, the reason why the signal may fail and stop you from watching streamed video is that wireless is only 54mbps and not the best speed for streaming, but wired streams at 100mbps and is constant speed whereas wireless doesnt give a constant true speed of 54mbps it can reduce considerably.
