Need to reset CMOS setup utility in Advanced Bios Features to original sequence for a Gateway SX2800-01. Having so many problems; got recovery disks but it isn't reading properly to boot up

If iy remove the cmos battery off of the motherboard and leave it off for about 30 minutes it should reset back to factory defaults. To get to The Cmos Battery simply unplug your computer and take off the side cover. Once you can see inside look for what looks like a big button battery (watch Battery). Remove it and leave it out. Once the 30 minutes has passed put it back in a plug in the computer. All things should be good to go at this point.

I forgot my gateway model ML6230 bios password, i need a new password for it (reset the password).

A method you can try if you don't have a password reset software is by removing the CMOS battery. Remove the CMOS battery then turn the computer on. The system BIOS will be reset and password will be removed. Then you can put the battery back in. Click on this link for the Gateway ML6230 Notebook PC Manual. Check page 36 for CMOS battery removal instructions.

How do I reset my Gateway LT20 Netbook Series back to the factory settings?

Very simple! You need to go into Cmos for the setup which is usualy F2 on boot. Once in the setup you go to the end page whwere it asks you if you want to restore factory defaults. Simply click on it then press save and exit. If F2 does not work on the boot to access Cmos setup then look at the screen as it starts to boot and it will usualy tell you what function key is for setup. Good luck Phil

Bios issue

Even if you turn off the on board graphics, the computer usually will output video until after BIOS post. Simply plug the monitor back into the motherboard video card. If that doesnt work you can actually just reset the cmos by opening the case ( make sure its unplugged) and there is a spot on the lower left where a jumper is and you can remove that to clear the CMOS. There are many you tube videos on how to do this. By doing this you will reset the CMOS to factory.
