Use cool air when you've finished blow drying your hair or doing anything else to your hair with hot air. When you blow cool air afterwards, it helps keep the style.

Clothes dryer is overheating and then shuts off

Your vent pipe is probably clogged with lint. Clean out, and blow out, if possible, If the vent is clogged, the air cannot properly escape and all that heat stays in the dryer, which probably sets off some kind of themal protection switch, preventing the dryer from running until it cools down.

Dryer is not heating, only blowing cool air

Its best to take it to an appliance repair man. This is usually an electrical problem related the the board or the relays behind the control panel. Beware though, sometimes its cheaper to buy a new one than fix the old. Hope this helps.

Admiral capacity plus dryer is not heating up - it seams to through a little heat for a couple of minutes then it is cool - i tried this on the auto setting and on the "straight" minutes setting.

check your vents and lint trap. there is an overheat sensor that will cut out power to your element. also there is an overheat fuse which may blow (cheap and easy to replace) but there would be no heat at all and in some models the dryer won't even turn on it it blows. so this is not likely

I have a simpson maxidry 326 dryer. It cuts out and stops tumbling after 5-10 minutes,it seems to cool right down and then I have to start it again. So if for instance I put it on the hot setting and say...

Check if the drier is blowing out air from the air duct. If not, the fan pulley is likely broken. With no way to cool the machine the thermostat will be shutting the machine off as it overheats.
